The Drug Take Back Day in Chewelah will be Saturday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Akers United Drug to encourage the proper disposal of prescription drugs and educate the community on the epidemic problem of prescription drug abuse. This event will be held in conjunction with the National Drug Take Back Day sponsored by the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency).
Marine Staff Sergeant Nicholas Adam Sprovtsoff, 28, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, during combat operations in Helmand Provence, Afghanistan. He is survived by wife Tasha; daughter, Lanie, and a child due in November, of Oceanside, CA; his parents, Sandra (Mark) Dutton of Michigan and Jack Sprovtsoff of Grand Blanc, MI; and a sister, Jessica of Ann Arbor, MI. Born April 4, 1983, in Flint, MI, he was a 2001 graduate of Davison High School and a 10-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. On Nov. 19, 2007, he married Tasha Fogle in Hawaii.
Ronald Blair OâBrien was born on December 26, 1943 in Vancouver, WA. At age 67 on September 18, 2011, Ron passed away while fishing at one of his favorite lakes.
