Virginia Mae (Koerner) Seimer of Chewelah passed away July 29, 2011 from complications related to a fall in her home one year ago. She was born Feb. 15, 1922 to Jesse and Mary Koerner in Impact.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Lawrence, and by her husband Cleo of 58 years.
Roy B. McKinney, Jr of Kettle Falls went to heaven on August 5, 2011 in Spokane at the age of 79. He was born June 5, 1932 in Drumheller, Alberta Canada to Roy B. McKinney and Leola (Berry) McKinney. With his parents, he returned to the United States in 1939 and grew up in Palouse. After attending school, he enlisted in the US Navy. After being honorably discharged, he married Dorothy Carmen and had two sons, Daniel R and Darrell F. He drove truck for Henchcliff in Dayton. He then moved to Waitsburg where he was the Chief of Police for two years.
Frank Richard Oâ€™Hearn, a 31-year resident of Colville, passed away on July 29, 2011 in Colville at the age of 65. He was born on July 10, 1946 in Clifton Springs, New York the son of Perry F. and Isabell M. (Wyffels) Oâ€™Hearn.
Ershal Haynes passed away, August 8, 2011, at the age of 68. Ershal was born January 23, 1943 in Colville to James Ershal Haynes (1894-1987) and Gladys Francis Ester (Bell) Haynes (1910-2009).
Ellis Lucius Newbill passed on July 23, 2011 at his home in Hunters. Ellis was born February 22, 1921 in Fruitland Valley near Newbill Lake to Clementine (Sullivan) Newbill and Edward Newbill. He was the 9th of 13 children.
The Newbill family owned and operated Newbillâ€™s cash store where Ellis worked with his father for several years. He was a industrious young man and also worked many jobs in the community and surrounding area including orchard work, mining, logging, farming, and even as a barber. Mining took him all across the Western U.S. and Hawaii.
Born August 11, 1923 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, Elton Earl Tetrick graduated from Lamberton High School, Minnesota. After high school, Elton enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea in the 52nd Signal Group. After serving in the Army, Elton attended Dunwoody Industrial Institute and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Drafting. He then went to work for Kato engineering as a machine designer, and then went on to work as a tool designer in Minneapolis.
David L. Dubois of Chewelah passed away August 4, 2011. Dave was born February 25, 1930, in Colville to Numa and Ruby Dubois. David spent almost his entire life in Stevens County, attending school in Arden, Loon Lake and Colville. He graduated from Colville High School as class valedictorian in 1948. Dave enlisted in the Air National Guard during the conflict in Korea, serving in England from August 1951 to June 1952 with the 81st Fighter Wing.
