Sharon May (Morgan) Fesler passed away June 28,2011 in Franklin, Indiana at the age of 65. Sharon was born on May 4, 1946 to John and Mary Morgan in Franklin, IN.
Sharon loved to travel all over the United States. She could never live in one place to long.
When she was put into the nursing home in 2007, she lived there only until 2010. Then she had the nursing home move her to a different nursing home, just because she had to move and couldn't stand to live in one spot too long.
Reed Bryan Friedman was released from his suffering on July 10, 2011. He passed away from complications resulting from progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).
Reed was born Nov. 30, 1953, in Los Angeles, CA, to George and Janice Coon Reed Friedman.
He is survived by his loving siblings, Diane Friedman, Colville; Malcolm Friedman and wife Jill, Colville; Joyce Woodard and husband Greg, Colbert; and Georgeann Peck and husband Dan, Spokane.
Colville High School senior-to-be Liselotte Doggen, who teamed with fellow CHS senior Erin Little to lead the Indians to a State 1A tennis tournament appearance and the medal stand this spring in Yakima, is organizing a local tennis tournament as part of her Senior Project. In addition to being her Senior Project, the tournament will also serve a dual function as a fund-raiser to help the resurfacing and retooling of the dilapidated tennis courts at Colville City Park. That project has been underwritten by the Colville Valley Tennis Association.

Travis Bonnett is a man of practicality. Itâs that realism that served as the impetus for the 24-year-old Onion Creek resident to mount an engine on the 26-inch Schwinn bicycle that he bought from Wal-Mart in order to save money on gasoline.
Yes, thatâs right. After watching a âhow toâ video on Youtube, Bonnett thought, âWhy not me?â He ordered an engine kit from www.gasbike.net, complete with a half-gallon gas tank, that he installed on the frame of his bike.
âMy friends were skeptical at first,â Bonnett says. âBut honestly, it wasnât very hard to do.â
Deserae Kathleen (Austin) Martinez, a life-long resident of the Colville area, was accepted into the Lordâs hands on June 26, 2011. She was born in Spokane on July 29, 1982 to Cathy Somerlott and Don Willard. She married Josh Martinez on Sept. 23, 2006. Desi graduated from Colville High School in 2001, and recently completed the Spokane Carrington College Dental Assistant program. She was employed by Whittyâs Chevron. Desi enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and helping people.
Charles Hugh Mitchell, a 43-year resident of Colville, passed away on June 27, 2011, at the age of 90. Charles, (Chuck), was born on Feb. 18, 1921 in Sparta, Tennessee, the son of James and Lina Mitchell. Chuck was raised and attended school in Oklahoma. He graduated from high school in 1940. Following high school, Chuck spent a year in a CCC camp digging irrigation ditches and building fences and another year at a NYA radio school learning repair and transmissions.
Mary Akerson, a ten-year resident of Colville, passed away on June 30 at the age of 105.
She was born on May 3, 1906 in North Carolina and moved to Missouri at a young age. In grade school, her parents moved the family to Montana, where they did not find enough good farmland and then moved back to Missouri, where she graduated from high school. After high school, Mary attended a teaching summer school in Miles City, Montana so she could teach for one year without having to go to college. After one year of teaching, she attended and graduated from Dillon, Montana Teachers College.
Berneice Iona Worth, a former resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on June 28, 2011 in Spokane at the age of 84. She was born on July 14, 1926 in Beiseker, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Meckler) Fleck.
Jeffrey G. Fisher, a resident of Spokane, passed away on June 23, 2011 in Spokane at the age of 26. He was born on Dec. 18, 1984 in Spokane, the son of Thomas Wayne and Fisher and Lori Denise Munson.
