Regional next at Kittitas
Kettle Falls High will send its full compliment of wrestlers to the 2B/1B regional wrestling tournament at Kittitas High School Friday and Saturday. Wrestling will get underway at 3 p.m. on Friday and at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Five of Kettle’s seven wrestlers earned medals at last Saturday’s 2B/1B sub-regional tournament at Lake Roosevelt High School.
“We will send all of our wrestlers to the next level of competition,” KFHS head coach Joe Kerns said. “Five of seven earned medals.”
Brons enjoying first season of college basketball
Former Colville High School basketball standout Jorden Brons is heading into the home stretch of her first season of college basketball with the Community Colleges of Spokane (Spokane Falls Community College).
The 5-6 freshman guard at CCS has enjoyed her experiences on and off the court playing for the Sasquatch (6-13, 1-6), who held off Wenatchee Valley (7-13, 2-6) Saturday in Wenatchee. Brons scored four points in the win.
The Colville High School Equestrian Team is preparing for three district meets in Wenatchee and Moses Lake.
Twelve riders have been practicing at Slide Creek Arena in preparation for competition and performance, cattle and gaming events.
To help pay for transporting horses, the booster club will hold a Soup Supper and Auction at the Arden Community Hall on Saturday, Feb. 25, starting at 5 p.m.
A variety of soups, green salad, rolls and baked potato bar will be served for a $5 donation.
A Silent Auction, as well as live auction, will start at 6:30 p.m.
Northport has no answers
for hot-shooting Redskins
Wellpinit (16-5) can out firing on all cylinders last Saturday night in the championship game of the Panorama Tournament at Kettle Falls Middle School.
The Redskins dominated inside and outside against cold-shooting Northport (17-3), bolting to a 21-7 first quarter lead and stretching that to 43-14 at halftime.
Game, set match.
Northport managed to outscore Wellpinit 15-11 in the third quarter, but the Runnin’ Redskins outscored NHS 19-5 in the fourth quarter.
