Thelma F. Warwick (Grillo) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Jan. 20, 2014 from chronic health issues at the age of 73. She was born on Feb. 7, 1940, the eldest of three siblings, to Henry and Elaine Grillo in Tonasket.
Thelma leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Stan; her sons, Rusty Warwick, Spokane; Phil Warwick and his wife, Tina, Kettle Falls; her daughter, Kim Warwick, Spokane, and two grandchildren, Jessica and Justin Warwick.
Clyde Rose was born in the small farming community of Rice on March 20, 1923. He passed away in the home he built on Jan. 19, 2014, in Olympia.
Preceding him in death were all his siblings, his daughter, Mary, and loving wife, Elizabeth.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Rose; three grandchilÂdren and nine great-grandchildren.
William â€śButchâ€ť Jennings of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Colville, passed away on Nov.11, 2013. Butch was born on June 20,1939 in Colville.
After graduating from high school, Butch joined the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served in the Vietnam War. Butch retired from the USAF in 1978.
In 2012, Butch returned to Pensacola to be closer to his children.
Butch was preceded in death by the love of his life, Berta Eastman.
Charles â€śBiffâ€ť Siegrist of Tonasket passed away Dec. 21, 2013 at the age of 78.
Biff is survived by four children: Charles (Faith) Mace, Orient; Doug (Jamie) Mace, Spokane; Debbie (John) Dirks, Kettle Falls; Susan Siegrist, Kettle Falls; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
At his request, no funeral service will be held.
Born on August 26, 1918 in Reno (near Woodland), Alvin W. Luhr was known his whole life as â€śTuffyâ€ť. He was raised by his mother (Lucy Berg) and step-father (Peter Berg) on a farm in the Clayton area,, along with two brothers and four sisters. He graduated from Deer Park High School in 1936, and attended Washington State College (now WSU) for three years before going into business partnership at a gas station in Deer Park.
Joyce Shillam went peacefully home to reside with her Heavenly Father on Jan. 13, 2014. Joyce was born June 27, 1943 in Spokane. She was a lifetime resident of Washington State, growing up in the Metaline Falls area and graduating from Metaline Falls High School in 1961.
She married the love of her life, Harry Lloyd Shillam, in 1962. They recently celebrated their 51st anniversary. The couple had made their home in the Colville Valley for the past 25 years.Â
Robert A. Weilep (Bob) passed away Saturday, Dec.21 2013. Bob was born on Dec. 1, 1934 to Robert L. and Margert (Ross) Weilep. He was a life-long resident of Stevens County.
Our brave Julie, loving wife, daughter and sister, passed away Jan. 12, 2014 at her home on the Columbia River at HanÂson Harbor, with her husband, Doug, and her parents at her side. Julie had battled chronic severe health problems for years.
Marion Grace Boggess, 92, of Lynnwood, passed away on Jan. 6, 2014, at home surrounded by family. She was born August 19, 1921 in Kettle Falls, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Sites. She was the youngest of five sisters. She graduated from Kettle Falls High School in 1941.
On May 10, 1963, she married Ira (â€śIkeâ€ť) M. Boggess.
Marion was employed at Pacific Bell and worked at the Colville flour mill before moving to Edmonds in 1964. She assisted her husband Ike running the family business, A&B Plumbing in Lynnwood, until their retirement.
Paul â€śTomâ€ť Wiltse, a longtime resident of Stevens County, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 28, 2013 at the age of 78. Tom was born on April 15, 1935 to Paul Albert and Helen Wiltse of Pierce County.
In 1953, tom married the love of his life, Claudia Battle. Together they had four children and lived in Orting. Tom was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Rendezvous, rodeos, estate sales and auctions.
