Gay Marie (Lundstrom) Ragan was born to Ray and Cecil Lundstrom on Sept 25, 1938 in Wilbur. She grew up living as an only child on her parentsâ€™ ranch, which is known as the â€śLundstrom Ranch,â€ť on what is now the â€śHellâ€™s Gate Game Refuge on the Colville Indian Reservation.â€ť
George David Hastings, a 43-year resident of Colville, passed away on April 18, 2014, surrounded by family while at his Colville home. George was born on December 14, 1931, the son of George Willard and Lucille Ella (Davis) Hastings.
George resided with his family in the Coeur dâ€™ Alene, ID area as a young boy, later moving with them to the Kent area. There he attended both grade school and high school.
Gale Deradorff, a long time resident of Colville, passed away on April 12, 2014 in Colville at the age of 81. Gale was born on January 6, 1933 in Mount Ayr, Iowa, the son of William and Gladys (Jones) Deardorff.
Gale was raised and attended school in McCook, Nebraska, and after completing the sixth grade began working to help support his family. Soon after his eighteenth birthday, he joined the United States Army and served during the Korean War, until he was discharged in 1953.
Philip H. Dubois, 78, of Colville, passed away on April 13, 2014. Phil was born to Numa and Ruby Dubois on April 15, 1935 in Arden.
He lived almost all of his life in Colville, working as a cattle rancher. Philip graduated from Colville High School in 1953 and married Karole Berger in 1954.
Phil was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie; a daughter, Vickie; a sister, Phyllis, and a brother, David.
He is survived by a son, Jean; a daughter, Valerie; two grandsons, Christopher and Jamie; a sister, Yvonne; and a sister, Rosemarie.
William â€śBillâ€ť Clovis Tremblay passed away on April 19, 2014 in Kettle Falls at the age of 80. He was born on February 26, 1934 in North Bend, OR the son of John and Bessie (Sherrill) Tremblay.
Bill spent his childhood in and around North Bend and Portland. He enjoyed the freedom and thrill of the good old days, riding the Portland streetcars all day for a nickel and boat racing with his father. He talked about riding the school bus, when as the oldest child at thirteen he had to drive the bus.
Marion Wayne Harris, a resident of Columbus, OH, passed away on March 19, 2014 in Colville at the age of 65. Wayne was born on March 20, 1948, the son of Lewis Reevs and June Marie (Harvey) Harris in Louisville, KY.
Wayne was a raised in Englewood, CO, where he attended school and graduated from Englewood High School in 1966. Wayne then married his childhood sweetheart and together they raised a family. Wayne and Lindaâ€™s lives eventually took sepaÂ¬rates paths, but they continued a lifelong friendship.
Alice Eileen Payton went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 5, 2014. She was born Alice Eileen Wurster on Feb. 28, 1928 in Creston, Iowa. She was raised on the family farm in the Lenox, Iowa area, and attended school in Lenox, graduating in 1945.
Paul D. MacMaster passed away at his home Monday, April 7 2014 in Colville at the age of 62. Paul was born to Violet L. Henderson-MacMaster and Ray D. MacMaster in Spokane, Oct. 26, 1951.
He grew up in Wilbur and was a 1970 graduate of Wilbur High School. He had many lifelong friends and classmates from his high school days. He was an accomplished wrestler and football player.
Kenneth Keith Grittner, a 65-year resident of Colville, passed away on April 9, 2014 at his home. Ken was born on October 29, 1932 in Colville, the son of William and Buela (Kifer) Grittner.
Ken attended a one-room schoolhouse across the field from the family home on Dominion Mountain through fifth grade. He graduated from Colville High School in 1950. Ken then worked as a logger in the local forests with his father. He moved to Richland in 1954 where he worked at Hanford until 1971.
Jack E. Wang cane into this world weighing 3 1/3 pounds on August 5, 1936, the son of E.G. (Joe0 Wang and Vera (Clarke) Wang of Chewelah. He passed on April 8, 2014 at his home.
Jack graduated from Jenkins High School in Chewelah with the class of 1954.
He entered the United States Army in October 1954 and served in Korea from January 1955 to June 1956. He finished his last 16 months of service at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
He married Ellen Fuller on October 25, 1958.
