Stevens County Dispatch received a call around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon that a man went into the water after his boat overturned near Barney's Junction bridge. The caller indicated that the man was not wearing a life vest. National Park Service, U.S. Border Patrol and Stevens County Sheriff's Department personnel are currently searching for the man. Ferry County Sheriff's Department has been notified of the situation, according to Stevens County Sheriff Kendle Allen.
"We really don't know anything else at this point," says Allen. "We will continue to search."

Born January 12, 1935, Roberta Ashbaugh passed away February 1,2013.
She is survived by three children, Barbara J. Ashbaugh;Linda L, Sannes (husband Steven) and Jay Ashbaugh (wife Tereasa);
seven grandchildren, Jeremy Bentz-Ashbaugh, Sean Sannes, Brianne Sannes, Ryan Sannes, Samantha Smith (husband Aaron),Gabe Hoisington and Nate Hoisington (wife Holly);
11 great-grandchildren, Payton Kirkpatrick, Ethan Kirkpatrick, Noah Bennett-Sannes, Brooke Bennett-Sannes, Marissa Sannes, Makenna Yarmin,Reina Yarmin, Emma Hoisington, Arieanna Hoisington, Xavier Hoisington and Landon Hoisington.
Annabell Joy Lehrbas, 94, passed away at her home on May 3, 2013. Annabell was born on Oct. 10, 1928 to Frederick and Rebecca Birdsell in Hardisty, Albert, Canada.
Annabell is survived by her children, Becky Cress, Greena¬cres; Larry (Rose) Lehrbas, Fruitland; and by a sister, Beryl Breeden, St. John. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 13-great-grandchil¬dren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Annabell was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and and Rebecca Birdsell; her husband, Willis Lehrbas in 1985; by a son, Floyd Lehrbas; two brothers, and a sister.

Duwaine Prater Brookover, age 72, of Colville, went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2013. He was born March 15, 1941 in Parkersburg, West Virginia the son of Donald Leach and Vesta Alice (Thorn) Brookover.
Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Aileen Cecilla (O’Daniel), passed peacefully on April 12, 2013, three weeks short of her 101st Birthday! What a grand and wonderful life she lived.
She is survived by her three children, Rodney, (Bellevue); his spouse, Carol, Susan (Denver, CO); her spouse, Jim and Timothy (Tucson, AZ): his spouse, Peggy , Aileen’s sister, Joan McRae, seven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
Her husband of 45 years, Charles preceded her in death.
Dorothy Mertle Ludeman, the youngest of four daughters and longtime resident of Stevens County, passed away on May 8, 2013 at the age of 90. Dorothy was born on Sept. 28, 1922 to Howard W. and Ella (Wareheim) Seaman. She was born and raised on the family farm on Kelly Hill near Barstow.
Bernard Bruce Cullers, a seven-year resident of Colville, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2013 at his home. Bernard was born on November 10, 1942 in Seattle to Ivan and Verdie (McLeland) Cullers. He attended and graduated from Pendleton High School in Pendleton, OR, in 1961.
He later enlisted in the Army in 1963 and served in the National Guard until he was honorably discharged in 1968.
