Robert Graham

Robert Joseph Graham, 80, a lifelong resident of Stevens County, passed away Dec. 23, 2011 at his home in Northport, surrounded by his wife of 57 years, Gailene, four sons and three daughters. Death came after a courageous five-month battle with cancer. He was born April 12, 1931, in Spokane. His father, Patrick H. Graham, was born in Ireland and came to Stevens County in 1878. His mother, Grace Hoffman Graham, came to Ferry County in the 1890's. Robert grew up in Boundary, nine miles north of Northport, where his father operated a pole yard.

George Kelly

George Kelly, age 75, passed away in Spokane Dec. 22, 2011. He was born on Jan. 6, 1936 in Ontario, Canada, the son of George and Lucy (Tye) Kelly. George attended school in Canada and completed school in River Rouge, Michigan.
Mr. Kelly married Mary Belman in 1975 in Canada, and the couple moved to Colville in 1991. He was employed by Hewes Marine until his retirement.
In George’s spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his four-wheeler and motorcycle. He thoroughly enjoyed living in the country and spending time with his wife of 36 years.

Edward Gilson

Edward N. Gilson, 68, passed away, Dec.22, 2011 in Colville. He was born in Chewelah on Dec. 13, 1943, the son of Maynard and Lillian (Staff) Gilson.
Edward was raised and attended school in Chewelah. He graduated from Jenkins High School in 1962 and in January of 1963 decided to serve his country by joining the United States Navy.

Dorothy Barrett

Our dear sweet mother, Dorothy Barrett, passed away on Dec. 18, 2011 at the age of 95. She was born Nov. 19, 1916 in Douglas.. In 1933, she graduated from Waterville High School, and in June 1935, she graduated from Morse Beauty School in Spokane.

Donald Johnston

December 21, 2011

Donald Johnston passed quietly at age 85, on Dec. 8, 2011. He joined his beloved wife of 62 years, Stella Johnston.
He served this country in World War II as an army medic and worked and later retired as a diesel mechanic.
On Donald’s behalf, we thank the Spokane VA Hospital staff for the respectful care and support given him and the family during his final days.

Dorothy Barrett

Our dear, sweet mother, Dorothy Barrett, passed away on December 18, 2011 at the age of 95. She was born November 19, 1916 in Douglas. In 1933 she graduated from Waterville High School, and in June 1935 she graduated from Morse Beauty School in Spokane. After working a short time in Seattle, she moved back to Waterville where she began courting David Gallaher from Mansfield. He was a wheat and cattle rancher. They were married October 29, 1939 in the Lutheran Church in Douglas. David was a pilot, and Dorothy received her pilot’s license soon after they were married.

Charles Roesberry

Charles “Brett” Roesberry passed away on Dec. 11, 2011 after a courageous fight with cancer. He fought a good fight and passed away at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Brett was born on July 14, 1959 in Boise, Idaho, the son of Charles and Betty (Johnson) Roesberry.
Brett graduated from Kettle Falls High School in 1978. He worked for Boise Cascade Lumber for 35 years before his passing. Brett was an active snowmobiler, and truly enjoyed golfing and car racing. He loved going to car shows and visiting his sisters on the coast to go salmon fishing.

Donald Grub

Donald Neil Grubb passed away peacefully at his home in Chewelah on Dec. 6, 2011. Donnie was born in Wattford, North Dakota on Dec. 9, 1934 to Robert Grubb-Charlson and Nora Ann (Barhart). Donnie was one of 10 children. The Grubb family moved to the Chewelah area about the time Donnie was in third or fourth grade. He graduated from Jenkins High School in 1953.

John Haynes

John Raymond Haynes, age 99, for many years of the Inchelium area, passed away on Nov. 22, 2011 on to his heavenly reward.
John was the son of Thomas and Etta Haynes and was born in Laurel, Oregon. He had one sister and five brothers, all who preceded him in death.
John worked in the lumber industry for many years, a good share of the time as a saw filer.
He moved to Inchelium, starting the Chapel of the Pines, which he was pastor for about 18 years, along with his wife, Gladys, who preceded him in death in 1998.

Cora Dorayne Clinkenbeard

Cora Dorayne Clinkenbeard (“Dory”) will be remembered by family and friends as a woman who loved and cared for her family and friends.
Dory, 69, of Colville, was called home to Jesus suddenly and unexpectedly on Dec.5, 2011.
