Sister Mary Esther Becker, OP, age 92, a resident of Chewelah, passed away on May 14, 2011 at St. Josephâ€™s Long Term Care in Chewelah. Sister Mary Esther was born on October 16, 1918 in Oberwuerzbach, Germany, the daughter of Alois Becker and Elisabetha Graf.
Nona Welch Delles passed away peacefully at her home in Springfield, Oregon on May 22, 2011.
A rosary will be said for her at the parish Church of the Immaculate Conception in Colville on Tuesday, May 31 at 7:30 p.m.
A requiem mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Colville.
Burial will be at Mountain View Park Cemetery after the requiem mass followed by a wake at the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Carolyn A. LaDuke-Hyde, 57, passed away Apr 9, 2011 after a one-year battle with cancer at her home in Honolulu, HI. Carolyn was born May 18, 1953 in Ione to Dale and Sylvia Anderson.
She attended school in Colville and graduated from Colville High School in 1971. She then attended college for one year at BYU-Hawaii, where she studied fashion. Carolyn moved back to Colville and lived there until 1992, when she left for Hawaii to work as an interior designer remodeling homes. In 2001, she started working as special projects and task manager for Straub Medical Clinic in Hawaii Kai.
Mildred Elizabeth Ensor, a longtime resident of Colville, passed away on May 19, 2011 in Colville at the age of 76. She was born on November 22, 1934 in Colville, the daughter of Herman Henry and Myrtle Emma (Clark) Rasching.
Lawrence R. Fry, a lifetime resident of Inchelium, passed away May 21, 2011 in Colville at the age of 86. He was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on August 12, 1924, the son of Frank and May (Elliott) Fry.
Rudy Krager was born Dec. 24, 1944. He passed away May 6, 2011 in Yakima.
Mr. Krager is survived by his wife, Bobby Jean Krager; four children, Pamela Rose, Robert (Brad) Brazel, Rudy Krager II and Brian Brazel; and four grandchildren.
He was born in McMinnville, Oregon and raised in Tillamook, Oregon. He moved to Kettle Falls in 1965 as a Boise Cascade foreman. He retired from Boise in 2000. He later worked for an armored car company and retired from that position in 2010.
Gary Mattozzi, age 60, passed away at his home on May 19, 2011. He was born in Trenton, New Jersey on February 16, 1951, and moved to the Tri-Cities in 1957. He and his family later relocated to Colville, which they called home.
Gary, a 10-year resident of Colville, loved the natural beauty of the area and all that goes with it. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping, and everything that had to do with the outdoors. He also enjoyed racing go-carts, working on cars and most importantly, spending time with his family.
He was a wonderful man and a great father.
Cora Kinard passed away peacefully after a lengthy decline on Sept. 18, 2010.
She was born Cora Virginia Hughart to Ruth Myrell Parlett and Robert Samuel Hughart on the Sept. 29, 1921 in Spokane.
She grew up at 909 W. Gordon in Spokane, attended Emerson Elementary graduated from North Central High School.
She attended Whitworth College and a trade school that awarded her a certificate in Comptometer operations.Â
Brandon was born in Bellingham on April 3, 1986.Â He has lived just north of Northport since the spring of 1998.Â
Brandon fought Duchenne MuscularÂ Dystrophy all of his 25-years, and on May 13, 2011, he moved into theÂ final level of life while the cherry blossoms bloomed and with his parents at his side.Â Brandon had expressed to family members that he had trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior. Â
