Jacqueline Dee Stahley, 84, passed away on November 14, 2011. She was born on August 27, 1927, the daughter of Lewis and Mabel (Bussler) Geer in Old Kettle Falls where she also attended school. The family moved to Seattle during the war where she met and married Ralph Harman in 1945 while he was serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. After Ralph was discharged from the service they spent some time in the Colville area, and then moved to Phoenix, AZ. Jackie went to work for Montgomery Ward and they stayed in Arizona until her retirement.
Larry (Laurence) Edward Miller was born on July 17, 1927 and passed away on Nov. 14, 2011. Larry was born in Newport to Thomas Jefferson and Winnifred Ruth Miller. He had four brothers and three sisters: Ethel (Fred) White, Alfred (Miriam) Miller, George (Lillian) Miller, Helen (Vern) Lamb, Everet Miller, Martin (Beverly) Miller, and Florence (Stan) Childs.
Louise Ruth Jones, a long time resident of Colville, passed away on Nov.12, 2011. She was born in Rodeo, CA. on March 23, 1924. She lived in San Francisco for over 20 years raising her children. She met and married Buzz Jones and they moved to Reno, NV. And lived there for over 10 years.
In 1977 she and Buzz moved to Colville and built their home in the Cedar Creek area. Buzz and Louise were married for over 45 years. She was very close to the Lord and was a member of the Northport Baptist Church.
A longtime resident of Kettle Falls, Norman passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane Nov. 7, 2011 after a brief illness.
Minnie Domenica Regis Lang, 97, a resident of Colville, passed away on Nov. 3, 2011. She was born on Dec. 14, 1913 in Pheonix, B.C. Canada, the daughter of John Batista Regis and Louise (Golletti) Regis.
Minnie moved to Spokane with her family as an infant. She attended first through sixth grade at the McKinley Grade School and then graduated from Libby Junior High School. Minnie then stayed at home to help her mother and family.
Myra F. Kearney, a resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on Nov. 4, 2011 in Colville at the age of 86. She was born on August 10, 1925 in College View, NE, the daughter of Homer and Olive (Boutelle) Saxton.
Daniel Robert Blackman, beloved husband, son, father, uncle, and friend, was called home to be with Jesus on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at the age of 59. Born in Wessington Springs, South Dakota on December 1, 1951, Dan lived a full and vivid life. While his parents may not have known it at the time, Robert and Levonne (Gillette) Blackman, surely couldnâ€™t have expected the significant impact Dan would have on the lives of all with whom he came in contact.
Devoted grandmother, mother, and wife, Arlene Gould passed away on Nov. 5, 2011 in Colville.
Arlene was born on June 11, 1931 in San Pedro, CA, the daughter of Jacob and Gwendolyn (Cribb) Snyder. The youngÂest of three girls, Arlene grew up in Bremerton. She graduated from Bremerton High School and worked various jobs after graduation, including at her familyâ€™s restaurant.
Marjorie G. (Marge) Mack, 90, passed away peacefully on Oct. 16, 2011 in Rockville, Maryland at Casey House Hospice. Born to Leonard Steele and Mary Mearline Ryan Steele on Nov. 22, 1920 in Oxbow, Saskatchewan, Marge moved with her family to Spokane when she was very young. She attended local schools and graduated from Rogers High School.
As a young woman, Marge worked at the legendary Davenport Hotel.
She married Paul Ellis Mack in Spokane on June 5, 1940 and they remained married until his death in 1978.
Hazel Graeber was born in Ephrata, the youngest of six children of Maurice D. and Clara Mae (Melberg) Catlow. She grew up in Spokane and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in June, 1941. Hazel met her first husband, Edwin, through her brother, Lloyd, as the two men were buddies in the Marine Corp. during World War II.
After writing many letters back and forth while he was interned in a Japanese Prisoner of War camp, Edwin came to Spokane. He and Hazel were married on Feb. 17, 1946 and had two children, Steven Douglas and Kimberly Maureen. They divorced in 1970.
