William â€śBillâ€ť Stanley Pinette passed away in Colville on June 10, 2012 at the age of 91. He was born on June 21, 1920, the son of Stanley and Maude (Anderson) Pinette in Puyallup.
Bill grew up in Tacoma, where he attended and graduÂ¬ated from Lincoln High School. When he was younger, he was very active in the school orchestra, playing the violin and viola, even playing with the Seattle Symphony. After high school, Bill worked in the Civilian Construction Corps and Forest Service, building trails in the Mt. Rainier area.
Betty Hannah Minnich was born April 14, 1919 and passed into eternal life May 27, 2012. Betty Hannah Arnquist was born April 14, 1919 on Lopez Island to Mavis and Willet Arnquist. She grew up in New York City and Hudson, WI, where she graduated from Hudson High School in 1937.
Mavis Mary Withers, a 19-year resident of Rice, passed away May 30, 2012 in Colville. Mavis was born in Eureka, South Dakota on June 2, 1940 to Edwin and Otiela (Leidle) Withers.
Mavis was raised and attended a one-room school in Eureka until the age of 12 when her family moved to Moses Lake, where she completed the 10th grade at Moses Lake High School.
Muriel June Kolbe-Briody, a seven-year resident of Colville, passed away on June 14, 2012 in Colville at the age of 94. June was born on June 23, 1917 in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of Walter and Elsie (Goldsworthy) Johansen.
June was raised in the Petaluma, CA area, where she attended school. She graduated in 1936 from Petaluma High School and began singing with the San Francisco Opera as a contralto.
Harold Graber passed away in Colville on June 12, 2012 at the age of 101. He was born on Dec. 1, 1910, the son of Henry and Rhoda (Wilson) Graber in Donnellson, Iowa.
Harold was raised on the family farm in Donnellson. He graduated from Livermore High School. After high school, Harold attended welding school in East Peoria, Illinois and also worked for Caterpillar Tractor there until he was drafted into the Army in 1941. He served in the South Pacific during WWII until his discharge in 1945.
Edna Visger, 88, formerly of Libby, MT, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at Pinewood Terrace Nursing Home in Colville on June 8, 2012. She was born Sept. 13, 1923 to Cally Wilson and Janet (Helps) Wilson at Fromberg, MT. Her father died shortly after her birth. Edna grew up in eastern Montana and was adopted by her step father, August Johnson.
The family moved to Libby in 1936 where Edna continued her education. She graduated from Libby High School. Following high school, Edna married Paul Moody in 1942. The couple raised two daughters, Sandra and Callie.
Erica Carlson passed away the morning of May 31 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with all her children present, after a fulfilling 88-year journey on earth.
She was born in Priest River, Idaho on Oct. 1, 1923, one of seven children to Gerhard and Lilly Kempff. Her earlier years were spent in the woods surrounding the Priest Lake ExperiÂ¬mental Station, where her father worked as a forester. Later, she moved with her family several times throughout the counÂ¬try before settling in Spokane, where she graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.
Belle Michael, a lifetime resident of the Kettle Falls area, passed away June 13, 2012 at the age of 88. She was born on August 29, 1923 at Barnaby Creek to Frank and Mary Ann (Sinclaire) Kaelber.
Belle graduated from the Inchelium High School in 1941. In 1943 she married William Orin Michael in Coeur dâ€™Alene, Idaho. A few years after their marriage, they moved back into the area. Every year the family would make a trip to Seattle to see family.
