Lawrence â€śLarryâ€ť Eugene Meilander passed away on Feb.11, 2013 in Colville.
Â Larry was born in Ellensburg on April 2, 1944 to George Nicholas and Helen A. Pfaff
Â Meilander.Â He attended Lourdes Academy and Ellensburg High School before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corp in December 1962.Â He trained at Camp Pendleton prior to being deployed to Vietnam.Â Larry was always a Marine.Â On his return home, he lived in Curlew and Inchelium Â before returning to Ellensburg.Â
He married Betty Anderson on Nov. 18, 1978.Â Jenny was born in 1979 and Nicholas in 1983.Â
Randy Novakovich passed away Feb. 21, 2013. He was born Feb. 7, 1948 in Sheridan,
Wyoming. He and his family moved to Spokane when he was three-years-old and then to Colville in the summer of 1961.
He quickly settled into life, enjoying the city park and pool and Junior High School.
He was a superior athlete competing at Colville High School: football (two years as a member of undefeated CHS teams), basketball, the state tournament team and track participation in the Class A State meet in 1966.
Lorene Driskill, a longtime resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on Feb. 15, 2013. She was born to Ferman Ledford and Orlena McCormic on April 2, 1938 in Batesville, AR.
Lorene was raised and attended school in Monroe. Later, she earned her certificate for Executive SecreÂ¬tary/Bookkeeper. Life introduced her to John Driskill and they were wed on March 5, 1956 in Goldbar.
Floyd Dwayne Pitts, a longtime resident of Colville, passed away on Feb. 21, 2013 in Colville at the age of 86. Floyd was born on Dec. 25, 1926 in Valley, the son of Jessie and Alice (Nile) Pitts.
Lillian West, 92, passed away Jan.31, 2013 at Buena Vista Nursing Home. She was born on Jan. 28, 1921 in Waverly.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Beaman (Greg),Hillsboro, OR, and Rex Willett (Linda), Spokane; four grandchildren, Cole Beaman (Christie), Aloha, OR; Katie BeaÂ¬man,, Hillsboro; Jeffri Willett, Colville; Keelan Willett, Spokane; five great-grandchildren, Kylie, Deviant, and Jennakai Willett, Colville; Tayla and Zuzana Beaman, Aloha.
Her loving and caring being will be missed by friends and family and by all who made her acquaintance.
Gerald Gene â€śJerryâ€ť Coffey passed away Jan. 27, 2013 in Spokane at the age of 77. Jerry was born on May 29, 1935 in Tuolumne, CA to Gerald and Ruth (Sorenson) Coffey.
Jerry lived in Minnesota and Iowa before moving to Colville in 1947 with his mother and stepfather, Perry Bockness. He graduated from Colville High School in 1953 and served in the Colville National Guard. Jerry married Sharon Wilson ion 1956 and together they had a busy family life raising their four daughters.
Lester Wilfred Riley was born on June 27, 1922 to William Lorenzo Riley and Audrey Lillian Steeley in New Meadows, Idaho. The Riley family moved to Rice in 1927 when he was five years old.
In 1943, Lester enlisted into the United States Army during Word War II, where he was assigned to the Combat Engineer Division and was stationed in the Philippines. While there he operated heavy equipment in the building of roads.
Francis â€śFrancoâ€ť Lee Swan, 59, a lifelong resident of Inchelium, passed away on Feb. 9, 2013 in Inchelium at his home. Franco was born on July 20, 1953 in Inchelium, the son of Corbett and Mildred (Meusy) Swan Sr.
On Jan. 25, 2013, our beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Julia (Judi) Marie Braucher, passed into Our Lordâ€™s loving arms at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends.
Judi was born on Nov. 4, 1939 to Leigh and Ella Deaver, in Pasco. She attended Daisy School, which was consolidated and renamed Evergreen by her after she won a contest to rename the school. She attended high school at Kettle Falls High School, and afterwards, marrying her high school sweetheart, Robert Harrington, with whom she had eight children and who preceded her in death.
A funeral service for Dr. Brad Lind will be this Thursday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. at the Ag Trade Center
