March 22nd
John R. Foster, 78, passed away from Parkinsonâs disease in Federal Way on March 4, 2013. He graduated from Colville High School in 1952 and attended Whitworth College.
John loved history, camping, CB radio, working hard to provide for his family and was especially fond of the Oregon Coast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Foster and Nellie (Holliday) Foster, and his wife, Helen (Anslow) Foster.
March 13th
George H. Jones, passed away on Feb. 22, 2013. He was 87. He was born Feb. 6, 1926.
He fell asleep peacefully in his own bed at home. That is the way he wanted it.
He was born in Phoenix, Arizona. His father, Henry A. Jones, was a blacksmith. His mother, Nina M. Egan, was a nurse. His sister was Celeste Haitt. All three preceded him in death.
George and Doris lived in Phoenix until they moved to Kettle Falls, where their daughter, Joannie McCrite, grandson, Ben, and roommate, Charmaine Cranmore, were caregivers.
Our loving mother and grandmother, Caroline J. Matney Sell, suffered a sudden aneurysm and went to be with her Lord on March 3, 2013. She was born on January 9, 1939 in Colville to Lloyd and Irene Matney. Our mother was a graduate of Kettle Falls High School and then married our father, Bill Flugel, on March 30, 1957. They had two children, Carla and Jake.
Charles âChipâ William Laramie, a lifetime resident of Inchelium, passed away on March 6, 2013 in Spokane at the age of 46. He was born on July 20, 1966 in Colville, the son of Charles Raymond Laramie and Ramona âKayeâ (Carden) Welch.
March 6th
Shirley Ray Agar (Viles), 86, passed away at her home in Colville on Jan. 27, 2013. She is survived by her four children, Debbie Egger (Max) Colville; Bruce Agar (Mary) of Thermopolis, WY; Matt Agar (Debbie) of Ontario, OR, and Muriel Badgley of Spokane, as well as 13 grandchildren, 17 plus great grandchildren, one sister, Nancy Sanders and numerous nieces and nephews.
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Hallgeen announces her passing at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane on Feb. 27, 2013.
Ellen Ann Richart, a longtime resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on Feb. 22, 2013. Ellen was born to Charles Tetzlaff and Emily Duga, on August 18, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She grew up in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from high school there. Even though Ellen grew up in the city, she was meant to be a country girl. She achieved that when she moved to the Kettle Falls (Kelly Hill) area in 1982. She met Frank Richart and they were married in 1990 in Coeur dâAlene, ID.
Bradley Clifford Lind, M.D., a 15-year resident of Colville, passed away on Feb. 2, 2013 in Boundary County, Idaho. He was born on Oct. 11, 1950 in Chicago, IL, the son of Clifford Milton and Laura Lee (Mudil) Lind.
February 27th
Lawrence âLarryâ Eugene Meilander passed away on Feb.11, 2013 in Colville.
 Larry was born in Ellensburg on April 2, 1944 to George Nicholas and Helen A. Pfaff
 Meilander. He attended Lourdes Academy and Ellensburg High School before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corp in December 1962. He trained at Camp Pendleton prior to being deployed to Vietnam. Larry was always a Marine. On his return home, he lived in Curlew and Inchelium  before returning to Ellensburg.Â
He married Betty Anderson on Nov. 18, 1978. Jenny was born in 1979 and Nicholas in 1983.Â
