Leonard Gordon

June 12, 2014

Leonard D. Gordon, born August 14, 1941, died May 21, 2014. Len was a longtime resident of Stevens County. He worked for the county as a plow-truck driver and equipment operator. After retiring, he moved to Rathdrum, Idaho.
Len is survived by his wife Anne, at the home; his son, Brian, also at the home; a daughter, Cathy, of Tualatin, Oregon.
A memorial for Len is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2 p.m., at the clubhouse of Golden Spike Estates in Rathdrum.

Roger Lindgren

June 12, 2014

Roger Lindgren of Superior, Montana completed his journey this side of Heaven on April 1, 2014.
He was born in Colville on April 30, 1936 to Anton and Bertha Lindgren.
Roger graduated from Colville High School in 1954 and joined the Coast Guard. In 1962 he graduated from the School of Forestry in Missoula at what was then Montana State University.

Audrey Womack

On May 19, 2014 an amazing soul left us. Today, we look past the heartache and remember the wonderful person Audrey Womack was. She was a loyal friend, loving wife and mother. She had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Church of Christ "Temple Lot."
Audrey was born in 1926 in Three Sands Oklahoma, her parents were Bernice and Lawrence Cooper.
She moved from Oklahoma to Colorado as a young girl and later moved to the Spokane area with her brother, Bud Cooper, and her parents. She was 18 when she married Lyle Womack. He was the love of her life.

Bob Porter

Robert “Bob” Norman Porter made his tireless journey from this earth into the arms of his loving wife up to the house of the lord on June 6, 2014, at the age of 73. He was born on Nov.4 or 5 (depending on who you ask) 1940 in Moscow, Idaho to Fred and Barbara Porter. In 1944 Robert and his family moved to Colville, where he started school in the Colville School District. Robert was an athlete and played basketball and tennis for his school team. A size 15 shoe was unheard of at that time, but he sported them proudly. Bob graduated as a 12-year senior at Colville and headed off to college.

Helen Crabtree

Helen Anne Crabtree, an 11-year resident of Colville, passed away on June 5, 2014 at the age of 94. Helen was born on June 16, 1919 in Gilbert, AZ, the daughter of Harry S. and Madge (Rowell) Holden.

Cora Morrison

June 12, 2014

Cora (Watson) Morrison, 78, spent nearly her whole life in Stevens County. She was born near Biarly on Bear Creek in what is now the Little Pend Oreille Wildlife Refuge. Except for a year or two in Missouri after her gradua¬tion from Colville High School, and seven years at Mondovi near Davenport, Cora called the Stevens County area her home.

Albert Staehly

Albert Carl Staehly, 92, passed away June 1, 2014 in Spo¬kane Valley. Albert was born July 7, 1921 to J. Law¬rence Staehly and Ruth Ann (Michael) Staehly and was raised on the family farm on Staehly Mountain in Ferry County. He attended Stony Acres School, District Number 19 (a one-room school house) and graduated from Colville High School in 1939.
Albert served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Betty (Askey) Staehly in 1948 and they re¬sided in Kettle Falls for 61 years before moving to Spokane Valley in 2010.
