Frank â€śWoodyâ€ť Norwood, 88, of Granger, set out to sea on his last big voyage as his family stood on the shore sharing their love and thanks for his dedication to being an amazing husband, father, teacher and counselor over the years. We have lost a member of The Great Generation and Granger has lost one of its last World War II Veterans.
Carl D. West of Addy passed away at his home on August 13 at the age of 75. Carl was born in Roslyn on August 8, 1939, the son of Carl and Mary (Minerich) West.
Carl attended Cle Elum High School and in 1956 joined the United States Air Force. Carl served until his discharge in 1960. Upon returning home, he started working for the Fish & Wildlife Department as a machinist. Carl worked for the department for several years before starting a career in the Aerospace Industry. Throughout his career he worked in various positions, but his specialty was machining.
Paul Wesley Yeomans, a longtime resident of Kettle Falls, passed away peacefully at his home on August 6, 2014 at the age of 77. He was born on May 14, 1937 to Adalbert and Elizabeth (McDonald) Yeomans in Grand Rapids Michigan.
Paul started his education in Grand Rapids. When Paul was ten-years-old, he started working with his siblings to help supÂ¬port his family. He had nine brothers and sisters. Paul was alÂ¬ways a hard worker and never complained. At the age of 19, Paul married his first wife.
Phyllis M. Cunningham, a longtime resident of Marcus and Colville, passed away peacefully during sleep on August 17, 2014 at her Gold Creek Loop home with family, after a battle of almost two years with cancer. She was under the gentle and excellent care of Hospice of Spokane at her home during this time.
Ronald â€śRonâ€ť F. Chute passed away from a heart attack on August 15, 2014, one month shy of his 68th birthday. Ron was born on Sept. 19, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Wayne and Irene (Frank) Chute.
Ron was a talented and creative soul who was able to quickly master just about any craft that interested him. He had a passion for the cowboy life, and enjoyed riding and packing trips with friends. Ron also had a passion for leatherwork, and was one of the most talented wood and leather workers in the Northwest.
Sonia Sue Thornburg, a longtime resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on August 5, 2014 at the age of 62. She was born on August 4, 1952 in Colville to Melvin and Clara (Cooper) Thornburg.
Phyllis Carol (Kisamore) Hyatt, a 54-year resident of Stevens County, passed away in Colville, WA on Aug. 5, 2014, at the age of 79. She was born March 29, 1935 in Kinsman, OH, the third of four children born to Byron and Pansy (Farance) Kisamore.
Patricia Ann Chambers, age 79, passed away in Spokane on August 6, 2014. She was born on January 26, 1935, the daughter of Eldon and Dorothy (Baker) Strawn in Denver, CO. At the age of nine, the family relocated from Denver to Yakima. Patricia attended and graduated from the Auburn Academy in Auburn.
In 1948, Patricia met LeRoy Dale Chambers in Yakima, and the couple married Jan. 30, 1954. Together they raised three children, Gregory, Karen, and Valerie. The family lived in Yakima until 1977, and then relocated to the Kettle Falls area where they have resided since.
Mae O. Redelings, age 95, passed away on July 18, 2014 in Tacoma. She was born the daughter of Rupert Peter and Genevieve Ann (Blackburn) Olsen in Brigham City, UT. Mae was one of eight children in her family.
Jordan Lee Wagner came into this world on June 3, 2014, welcomed by his proud parents, Justin Lee Wagner, Starla Bowman and big brother, Brady. You left us peacefully in your sleep and gently went home into the arms of the Lord on July 13, 2014.
In your short life, you touched the hearts of all those that knew how precious you were. You stayed just long enough to meet everyone who loved you from coast to coast. Baby JorÂ¬dan, you have brought so much happiness to our family; words canÂ¬not express how much youâ€™ll always be loved and missed!
