Myrtle Laverne Parker was born on July 10, 1930 in WillisÂ¬ton, North Dakota to Joseph and Frances Moline. She moved to Spokane to live with her grandmother while still in high school. She graduated from North Central High School (SpoÂ¬kane) in 1948.
After high school, she attended Beauty School. She said that she used to travel to Colville from SpoÂ¬kane once a week to cut hair. Myrtle met her soon to be husÂ¬band, Jack, on a fishing trip with friends at Deer Lake. Jack and Myrtle were married on July 17, 1950.
Linda Joy Beegle passed away in Colville on Nov. 28, 2014. She was born the daughter of Charles Freeman and Bonnie Ione (Little) Joudrey on Dec. 8, 1941 in Bellingham.
David Lee Pease passed away on Nov.29, 2014 in Spokane. He was born the son of Louie Thomas and Audrey Elizabeth (Gardnerhouse) Pease on Oct. 21, 1941 in Lewiston, ID. David grew up and attended school in Inchelium. After graduating from Inchelium High School, David attended and graduated from Whitworth College with a Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Forestry Management. That led him to a 36-year career with Boise Cascade.
Don F. Nigg, age 78 of Oroville, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 in Colville. He was born Sept. 27, 1936 in Oroville to parents Frank and Gunda Nigg.
Don grew up and attended school in Oroville, graduating in 1954. He then entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Following an honorable discharge from the service in 1956, he moved to Conrad, Montana.
Roger Wayne Americk, a life-long resident of Colville, passed away on Nov. 9, 2014 in Spokane. He was born in Colville on Feb. 6, 1939, the son of Paul and Rosa (Streit) Americk.
Roger attended and graduated from Colville High School as a 12- year senior. In high school, Roger was a member of the Colville High School basketball team, and was active in many other sports activities.
William Richard â€śDickâ€ť Philpott passed away peacefully in his sleep on Nov. 12 in Bellevue. Dick lived with Alzheimerâ€™s disease for 14 years and was 89-years-old.
Mary Elizabeth Rhodes Gallinger, passed away peaceÂ¬fully on Nov. 10, 2014 at Buena Vista Nursing home in Colville at the age of 91. She was born on Jan. 12, 1923 to Louis and Edna Garton Rhodes, in Coulee City.
She graduated from Coulee City High School and atÂ¬tended Business School in Everett. On her return to Coulee City area, she went to work at Grand Coulee Dam as one of the first feÂ¬male timekeepers.
Our beloved Elaine M. Porter-Cole, 69, went in peace to Jesus, our Lord on Nov. 8, 2014 surrounded by her family in love and spirit at the Spokane Hospice House.
James Buckley â€śJBâ€ť Richardson, 91, most recently of Sweetwater, TN, passed quietly into the presence of his Lord Oct. 10, 2014 at Wood Presbyterian Home, Sweetwater.
He was predeceased in 2006 by his wife of 62 years, E. Marzella.
He is survived by son, Larry and wife Sarah, Colombia, South America; son, David and wife Barb, Ecuador, South America; daughter, Janet Brewington, Edwall; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
