Geraldine â€śGerryâ€ť L. Rainer, (1930 â€“ 2013) passed peacefully at her home on Dec. 3, 2013 with family members at her side. Gerry was born on April 18, 1930 in Colville, the daughter of Grant Edward and Josie Celeste (Hauge) Amblie.
She was raised in Addy and attended school in Chewelah. Gerry graduated from Chewelah High School in 1947. She began working at Seattle First National Bank in Colville when she was 17.
On Jan. 19, 1949, she married Otto H. Rainer of Chewelah. Geraldine and Otto shared a blessed marriage and friendship of 64 years.
Donnel â€śDonâ€ť Waldo McKern, a longtime resident of Rice, passed away on Nov. 18, 2013 in Colville.. Don was born on Jan. 2, 1945 in Colville, the son of Morse and Blanche (Felts) McKern.
Don was raised in Rice and graduated from Kettle Falls High School in 1963. After graduation, he attended Washington State University for two years. Don then transferred to Wenatchee Valley College, where he studied for one year until he enlisted with the United States Air Force. He served his country until 1971, when he was honorably discharged.
Alloma Dell Ransbottom, age 65, passed away in Spokane on Nov. 29, 2013. She was born on Oct. 30, 1948, the daughter of Donald and Irene (Fritz) Billedeaux in Longview.
Alloma grew up and attended school in Battleground. After graduating from high school, she lived and worked in the Vancouver area until relocating to Kettle Falls in 1972 when she started working at Boise Cascade.
Jack O. Schwager, beloved husband, dad, granddad, brother and uncle, passed away in Colville on Nov. 25, 2013 at the age of 89.
Jack was born in Spirit Lake, Idaho, Feb. 29, 1924 to Jack Sr. and Sadie Schwager.
His early years were spent in the Malo/Curlew area. The family then moved to the Blue Creek area in 1940. Jack graduated from Jenkins High School (Chewelah) in 1941.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1944, serving in the European Theater during WWII.
Dennis Lee Williams, 63, of Kettle Falls, Â died Nov. 21, 2013 from a stroke in Spokane
Dennis was born on Dec. 4, 1949 in Russellville, Arkansas to Donald Lee and Loretta Mae Williams, who preceded him in death.
Surviving him is his brother, Jack Williams, Bigfork, MT; sister CherylÂ Gerdrum, Great Falls, MT, and ex-wife, Marie Williams, Colville.
A viewing was held Dec. 2 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell, MT. A graveside service followed that afternoon at the Bigfork Community Cemetery, Bigfork, MT.Â
He is loved and will be missed greatly.
Billie June (Sherie) Johnson, age 86, a long-time resident of Northport, passed away on October 27, 2013 of a stroke at Buena Vista Assisted Living in Colville. Â Sherie was born on August 11, 1927 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Â Sheri traveled to many places during her young life.Â As an adult, she spent many years in Alaska fishing and living off of the land.Â She had many adventures there and many good friends and relatives.
Julie Lynn Entwistle, age 53, passed away on Nov. 25, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 18, 1960, the daughter of Arnie and Liz (Warner) Bocker, in Bellevue.
In 1966, the family relocated from Bellevue to Addy and bought a farm.
Donald C. Mahaffey a 17-year resident of Kettle Falls, graduated to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully in Spokane on Oct. 20, 2013, five days before his 71st birthday. He was born Oct. 25, 1942 in Aberdeen to James and Kay (Compton) MaÂ¬haffey.
William â€śBillâ€ť P. McKinney, age 68, a 13-year resident of Curlew, passed away on Nov. 11, 2013 at his daughterâ€™s home in Colville after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born on Nov. 9, 1945 in El Dorado, KS, the son of Lawrence George and Rose Guida (McKinney) Anderson.
Bill began his education in El Dorado, and then moved with his family to Dallas, TX, where he attended Thomas Jefferson High School. He received his diploma from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1965 and then attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA.
William â€śBillâ€ť Ray DeWitt, a longtime resident of Stevens County, passed away on Nov. 9, 2013 in Colville at the age of 75. He is also known as Dad, Papa and Pops to many people whose lives he touched.
Bill was born to William and Ruth (Benton) DeWitt in Buckeye, AZ on Sept. 22, 1938.
