Kenneth Blanchard

November 12, 2013

Kenneth Gene Blanchard passed away on Oct. 30, 2013 in Colville. He was born on June 13, 1945 in Tifton, GA, the son of Buck and Addy (Bailey) Blanchard. Kenneth grew up in Tifton and moved to Albany, GA, where he met Barbara Partain. The two were married in April 8, 1963. The family then relocated to Florida when their children were young.
Kenneth and his wife Barbara moved to Colville 15 years ago and made their home here.

Bud Martin

John “Bud” Junior Martin, age 87, passed away on Oct. 27, 2013 in Colville. John was born on March 15, 1926 in Gifford, the son of John and Marie (Gregerson) Martin.
John was raised and attended school in Gifford and Hunters. He graduated in 1946. He married Bertie Tayloe on May 27, 1951 and together they moved to Everett, where he was employed at Boeing. Later, they returned to Colville and John began working at the Dallas Garage as a mechanic. With his experience in mechanics, he transferred to Colville Valley Concrete and later to Chopot’s Lumber Company.

Roger Knapp

Roger H. Knapp succumbed Oct. 16 at Tri-State Hospital in Clarkston from lung cancer. He was born July 22, 1930 in Spokane to parents J. Hubert and Alta E. (Keough) Knapp Sr., the third of eight children born to his parents.
Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Colville, where Roger spent the remainder of his childhood years. High school years were spent attending Colville High School through 1946. In 1951 he entered the U.S. Army and served in Korea, followed by an honorable discharge.

Richie Brown

Richard “Richie” Brown, born June 23, 1968, passed away Oct. 17, 2013 of a massive heart attack. He is survived by his wife Renea, and daughters Kerbi, Josie and Bailey; parents Tony and Louis Brown; granddaughters, Nevaeh and Ava; brother, Tom (Laurie) Brown; sisters Debbie Wood, Cathy (Donald) Richardson, Toni (Bill) Thompson and many nieces and nephews.

Don McDaniel

Don Wayne McDaniel, 58, of Colville, passed away on Oct. 17, 2013.
Don was born in Albany, California on Wednesday, July 13, 1955 to Thomas and Frances McDaniel.
Don was married to Shelia McDaniel (Sanborn) on May 16. 1976.
Don worked several jobs in his lifetime. For twelve years he worked for Vaagen Brothers, where in 1989 he was named Employee Of The Year. After he departed Vaagen Brothers, he went to work for Andy and Bobbi Kroiss. Finally, he worked for True Survey.

Matthew Clark

November 1, 2013

Matthew Michael Clark was born on August 13, 1992 in Spokane. He passed away on Oct. 19 in Colville at the age of 21. Matthew was involved in a rollover car accident six miles out Aladdin Road.

Bill Brauner

William “Bill” Harold Brauner, a longtime resident of the Kettle Falls area, passed away peacefully on Oct. 21, 2013 at his Kettle Falls home. Bill was born on April 26, 1924 in Mar¬cus, the son of Carl and Ruth Ellen (Ricketts) Brauner.
Bill was raised in Marcus, where he attended school in Mar¬cus. By the age of 12 he was driving truck, haul¬ing rough green pine from the mill jacks to the lumberyard. By age 14, he was operating the boiler. Bill had his own paper route by age 16.

Blaine Moorhead

 Blaine E. Moorhead passed away on October 21, 2013 on the farm his parents raised him on.
He was born the son of Ross and Elise (Ralph) Moorhead on Sept. 28, 1926 in Colville. Blaine was a life-long resident of Colville and graduated from Colville High School. After graduating from high school, Blaine enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country. Following his honorable discharge in 1947, Blaine returned to the family farm where he lived until his passing.
