James R. Wheeler went to be home with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of Dec. 19, 2012. He was born Oct. 15, 1942 in Denver, CO to James and Shirley Wheeler. Jim grew up in Denver and became a successful businessman at a very young age. Along with a paper route, he started his own lawn maintenance business called â€śDo Right Lawn Care.â€ť Jim attended Colorado CU College and earned a Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Engineering. He was drafted into the Army in 1968 and served his country in the Viet Nam War. He earned the rank of sergeant and was stationed at Dong Ha.
Everett S. Qualey passed away in Colville on Dec.15, 2012 at the age of 79. He was born the son of Edward and Eleanor (Nutting) Qualey on Nov. 13, 1933 in Naples, Maine.
Catherine â€śKittyâ€ť Louise Miller, 85, passed away on Dec. 8, 2012 in Chewelah. Kitty was born in Craig, Montana on July 4, 1927 to Edwin and Clara (Warness) Link.
Kitty lived with her family in Montana until the age of 10 when they moved to the Addy area. She attended a one-room school in the North Basin area for several years. Then, at the age of 15, she moved with her family to Spokane where she lived until 1982, when she relocated to Northport. Kitty lived in the Northport area until her move to Chewelah in 2008.
Dan V. Montgomery passed away Nov. 19 in Lewiston, Idaho, at the age of 89. He was born to Guy and Lena Fager Montgomery on March 6, 1923 in Colville.
He graduated from Colville High School in 1941 and attended one year at Washington State University before entering the U.S. Army.
Mark Wiant, 63, passed away the morning of Dec. 6, 2012 in Mead after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on August 14, 1949 to Marion and Maryanna Wiant, he was the first of three children.
Mark served in the US Navy from 1969 - 1971. Soon after being discharged he met the love of his life, Cookie Wright. They met just before Halloween, 1971, and were married Dec. 10, 1971. Two children soon joined the couple: a son, Chris, and daughter Melissa.
Francis Schwenke was born in Kalispell, MT. on January 25, 1947 to Herbert Leonard Schwenke and Martha Jane Chapman. He passed away Dec. 4, 2012.
He and his wife Carol of 28 years spent their retirement years traveling. Before Francis retired he spent most of his life as a logger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Krause, sons John Lotze and James Lotze, and daughter Beverly Schwenke.
Robert Emmett McNamee, 91, entered into eternal rest, November 28, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Hospital with family at his bedside. Emmett was born on March 22, 1921 in Colville to John Joseph & Edna Leona (Shepherdson) McNamee.
Raymond Oliver Sletten, a seven-year resident of Chattaroy passed away on Nov. 27, 2012 in Spokane. The midwife, Mrs. Shane, delivered Ray on the family ranch on November 29, 1925 in Zahl, ND, the son of Ole and Mabel (Rude) Sletten.
Marjorie Louise Reed, 78, passed away, November 28, 2012 in Colville. Marjorie was born on October 1, 1934 in Lisbon, Iowa to Clarence and Elizabeth (Townson) Stritt.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Carolyn Luebke-Herr and husband, Robert, of Colville; Sandy Johnson, Donald Cheney, Diane Corn, and Cindy Belding.
There will be a wake at a later date.

Glen E. Morris, 84, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. He was born Jan. 16, 1928 in Usk to Fred and Nellie (Masters) Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard, Jean and Robert, and sister Blanche. He is survived by his wife, Bette Jeanne, and four children: Catherine Brady (Bob), Shelly Garg (Raj), John Morris (Debra) and Margaret Morris; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and brother Wayne and sister Wendy.
