Danny Fincher

Harold Daniel “Danny” Fincher Sr., a resident of Rice, passed away on Dec. 17, 2012 in Colville at the age of 66. He was born on March 8, 1947 in Wendell, Idaho, the son of Harvey Herbert Fincher and Mary LaVerne Gregg Sewell.
As a young boy, Danny lived in Riverton Heights out¬side of Seattle. There he continued his education and en¬tered the Navy. Danny served overseas aboard the U.S.S. En¬terprise in the Pa¬cific Theater during the Vietnam War.

Ike Jenne

Frank Ivan “Ike” Jenne, a life-long resident of Chew¬elah, passed away at his home on Christmas morning at the age of 85. He was born Oct. 31, 1927 at the family home on King Street. The son of Everett Jenne and Ha¬zel (Smith) Jenne, he was the youngest of five children.
Born into a hard-working family during the Depression, Ike spent much of his time helping in the family-run creamery business. The Jenne’s always had an over-sized, very produc¬tive vegetable garden with enough surplus to sell the extras on the streets of Chewelah.

Daniel Lee Collins died Dec. 8, 2012 in Arrowhead Hospital, Glendale, AZ, where he was admitted for surgery on his right leg and foot for gout.

James Wheeler

James R. Wheeler went to be home with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of Dec. 19, 2012. He was born Oct. 15, 1942 in Denver, CO to James and Shirley Wheeler. Jim grew up in Denver and became a successful businessman at a very young age. Along with a paper route, he started his own lawn maintenance business called “Do Right Lawn Care.” Jim attended Colorado CU College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He was drafted into the Army in 1968 and served his country in the Viet Nam War. He earned the rank of sergeant and was stationed at Dong Ha.

Everett Qualey

Everett S. Qualey passed away in Colville on Dec.15, 2012 at the age of 79. He was born the son of Edward and Eleanor (Nutting) Qualey on Nov. 13, 1933 in Naples, Maine.

Catherine "Kitty" Miller

Catherine “Kitty” Louise Miller, 85, passed away on Dec. 8, 2012 in Chewelah. Kitty was born in Craig, Montana on July 4, 1927 to Edwin and Clara (Warness) Link.
Kitty lived with her family in Montana until the age of 10 when they moved to the Addy area. She attended a one-room school in the North Basin area for several years. Then, at the age of 15, she moved with her family to Spokane where she lived until 1982, when she relocated to Northport. Kitty lived in the Northport area until her move to Chewelah in 2008.

Dan Montgomery

Dan V. Montgomery passed away Nov. 19 in Lewiston, Idaho, at the age of 89. He was born to Guy and Lena Fager Montgomery on March 6, 1923 in Colville.
He graduated from Colville High School in 1941 and attended one year at Washington State University before entering the U.S. Army.

Mark Wiant

December 12, 2012

Mark Wiant, 63, passed away the morning of Dec. 6, 2012 in Mead after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on August 14, 1949 to Marion and Maryanna Wiant, he was the first of three children.
Mark served in the US Navy from 1969 - 1971. Soon after being discharged he met the love of his life, Cookie Wright. They met just before Halloween, 1971, and were married Dec. 10, 1971. Two children soon joined the couple: a son, Chris, and daughter Melissa.

Francis Schwenke

Francis Schwenke was born in Kalispell, MT. on January 25, 1947 to Herbert Leonard Schwenke and Martha Jane Chapman. He passed away Dec. 4, 2012.
He and his wife Carol of 28 years spent their retirement years traveling. Before Francis retired he spent most of his life as a logger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Krause, sons John Lotze and James Lotze, and daughter Beverly Schwenke.
