Gerald Gene â€śJerryâ€ť Coffey passed away Jan. 27, 2013 in Spokane at the age of 77. Jerry was born on May 29, 1935 in Tuolumne, CA to Gerald and Ruth (Sorenson) Coffey.
Jerry lived in Minnesota and Iowa before moving to Colville in 1947 with his mother and stepfather, Perry Bockness. He graduated from Colville High School in 1953 and served in the Colville National Guard. Jerry married Sharon Wilson ion 1956 and together they had a busy family life raising their four daughters.
Lester Wilfred Riley was born on June 27, 1922 to William Lorenzo Riley and Audrey Lillian Steeley in New Meadows, Idaho. The Riley family moved to Rice in 1927 when he was five years old.
In 1943, Lester enlisted into the United States Army during Word War II, where he was assigned to the Combat Engineer Division and was stationed in the Philippines. While there he operated heavy equipment in the building of roads.
Francis â€śFrancoâ€ť Lee Swan, 59, a lifelong resident of Inchelium, passed away on Feb. 9, 2013 in Inchelium at his home. Franco was born on July 20, 1953 in Inchelium, the son of Corbett and Mildred (Meusy) Swan Sr.
On Jan. 25, 2013, our beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Julia (Judi) Marie Braucher, passed into Our Lordâ€™s loving arms at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends.
Judi was born on Nov. 4, 1939 to Leigh and Ella Deaver, in Pasco. She attended Daisy School, which was consolidated and renamed Evergreen by her after she won a contest to rename the school. She attended high school at Kettle Falls High School, and afterwards, marrying her high school sweetheart, Robert Harrington, with whom she had eight children and who preceded her in death.
A funeral service for Dr. Brad Lind will be this Thursday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. at the Ag Trade Center

Leonard C. Fredrick (Curly Jack) passed away on Jan. 3, 2013 peacefully at his home in Newport.
He was born on Sept. 12, 1945 in Weiser, Idaho, the oldest of 11 children born to Charles R. (Bob) and Dorothy E. Fredrick.
In 1953, the family moved from Idaho to Washington and bought a home in Colville. In 1955, they bought a farm on Aladdin Road where Jack resided until his graduation in 1963 from Colville High School.
Robert â€śBobâ€ť Louis Kaunike, a longtime resident of Colville, passed away on Jan. 31, 2013 at the age of 80. He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on May 18, 1932 to Henry Harry and Edna Clara Bertha (Neibur) Kaunike.
Robert was raised and attended school in Fairmont, West Virginia and graduated in 1951. After high school, he began college and later transferred to West Virginia University, where he graduated in 1956.
Marilyn Bergevin, of Gig Harbor passed peacefully Wednesday night at home after a long fight with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was born to Kathryn and Otto Fogle in 1935 in Colville. Her father came from North Dakota and was a local businessman. Her mother was born in Nebraska and moved to Colville to teach. Marilyn spent the summers as a child at her parentâ€™s remote cabin in British Columbia and developed a love for nature. She graduated from Colville High in 1953 and received her BA in Education in 1957 from Washington State University.
James R. Northrup passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, 2013 at the age of 86, surrounded by many family members. He suffered complications from a fall at home and died at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He was born on Jan. 19, 1927 in Colville, the second child of Rod and Mabel (Wetzel) Northrup.
He was raised on a ranch on Highland Loop Road between Kettle Falls and Colville and learned the value of hard work. He was proud of the fact that his great-grandfather homesteaded in Northrup Canyon near Steamboat Rock in Grand Coulee.
Jerry R. Starr, 71, suffered a heart attack and passed away on Jan. 29, 2013. Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife Margie, sister Kathryn Hammond, aunt Patricia Kingsbury and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jerryâ€™s passing was preceded by his mother, Mary Merle Starr/Johnson, brother, Cameron Johnson, and by the death of his step-father, Ret. Col. Charles Johnson.
