Almeda Rose Davis was born August 24, 1952 to Donald Deck and Rose Ann (Martin) Deck of Tacoma. As a newborn she lived in Yelm, WA. with grandpa Jim and Nanny. At the age of two, she was adopted by Leland Gardner. As a young adult, she married Tom Waters and was blessed with a son, Kahle. Almeda later married Manford James (Jim) Davis on August 24, 1985 on the Davisâ family property in Montesano, WA. Over time they were also blessed with two boys: Paden and Colton.
John Robert Pickett was born June 24, 1941 and passed away April 10, 2012. John was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. His family moved to Portland for his junior high and high school years. After graduation John served in the United States Coast Guard. Throughout his life, John had several jobs including logging, working at Safeway, selling tractors, and as a security guard.
HALDON L. âSLIMâ HOLFORD, 85, Morton, WA, died Tuesday, April 3, at Morton General Hospital, Morton, WA. A Graveside Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Meyers Falls Cemetery, Kettle Falls, WA. Services are under the direction of Brown Mortuary, Morton.
William Walter Artman passed away in Colville on March 29, 2012. Bill, born Sept. 4, 1943 in Colville, was the oldest son of Merlin Walter and Rose Marie (Laird) Artman.
Bill spent his growing-up years in Colville, graduating from Colville High School in 1961. Some time later, he graduated with a business degree from Eastern Washington University. Bill served in the Air National Guard for six months active and six years in the reserves, fulfilling his military commitment.
Marilyn A. Lakey, 80, was born on Oct. 7, 1931 in Fruitland and passed away on March 24, 2012 in Spokane.
Marilyn graduated from Hunters (Columbia) High School. She married Casey Lakey on Feb. 18, 1950 in Davenport. They lived and farmed in the Colville Valley for 18 years.
Emily Gladys Knapp passed away on the evening of Good Friday, April 6, 2012 in Olympia at age 96. She was a longtime (67 years) resident of Colville and loved her town (âDo you know what is the most wonderful town in the world?â).
Toni Gayle Vanderhoof left us to be with Jesus on March 19, 2012. She had put her life in Godâs hands and let Him carry her in her final days of her battle with COPD. Toni was surÂŹrounded by family and close friends as she left earth on her journey to heaven.
Toni was born on Dec. 19, 1950 in South Bend, Indiana to Stanley and Dorothy (Martin) Scearce. Her mother moved to Washington in 1969, bringing Toni with her. Toni moved to Utah in the 80âs.
Laura Jean Wappl, a resident of Colville, passed away on March 28, 2012 in Colville at the age of 67. Laura Jean was born on Nov. 20, 1944 in West Seattle, the daughter of Louis and Laura Louise (Knowles) Wappl.
Laura Jean (Puddin) began her education in Arbor Heights and later attended the âPacificâ school for her Junior and Senior High School education. While in school, she participated in the Special Olympics as a swimmer and bowler. Through Special Olympics, Laura Jean was given the opportunity to travel to many events, including a trip to Louisiana.
Will M. Christian, a longtime resident of Colville, passed away on March 26, 2012 in Colville after a long illness with Alzheimerâs. He was born on Feb. 8, 1966 in Colville, the son of Glenn and Dianne (Terry) Christian.
When he was two-weeks-old, the family moved to the Seattle area where he was raised and attended school in Renton until the age of 16. While in school, Will enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and soccer in the city leagues.
