Thomas Guglielmino

Thomas Alfred Guglielmino, a life-long resident of the Colville and Flat Creek area, passed away on March 15, 2012 at his ranch home on Flat Creek after a struggle with cancer. He was 49.

Leona Sandvig

March 20, 2012

Leona Mae Sandvig, a resident of Inchelium, passed away on March 12, 2012 in Inchelium at the age of 72. Leona was born on April 25, 1939 in Wilbur, the daughter of Oscar Truman and Erma Mae (Gent) Lindstrom.
Leona moved with her family to Republic, where she began completed first grade. In her early years, Leona lost her father to a tragic truck accident. Her mother later remarried James “Jim” Hamilton and he embraced the role as “Dad” for Leona and her sisters. Their family then moved to Inchelium.

Brandon Harshbarger

Brandon Gene Harshbarger, 31, of Colville, went to be with the Lord, on March 14, 2012. Brandon was born in Tacoma on October 27, 1980, the son of Travis Harshbarger and Cathrine Hayes.
Brandon attended the South Kitsap High School and received his GED through the Job Corps. He spent his adult life in Colville and Spokane where he met his soulmate, Kimberly Rounds. He worked at Travis Pattern, Hearth and Home and Pantrol.

Jack Sparks

Jack D. Sparks passed away at 6:25 p.m. Feb. 19, 2012 at Kennewick. He was surrounded by family and his longtime companion, Dorothy Rapinsky.
He was born in Kettle Falls, WA on April 1, 1935 to Claude D. and Virginia Esther (Beach) Sparks. He married Marilyn Diann McWhorter in 1954 in Yakima before moving to Hawaii for military duty. Jack served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1968, seeing duty in the Korean theater and in Thailand in support of the Vietnam operations.

"Millie” Lyng

Mildred “Millie” May Lyng, a 53-year resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on Feb. 20, 2012. Millie was born on Feb. 2, 1927 in Raley, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Morton Harrison and Edna (Severson) Caufield.
She moved into the United States as a young child, traveling between communities where work opportunities were available for her family. In her teen years, Millie moved to Northeast Washington where she graduated from high school at Medical Lake.

Anne Davis

Anne Davis passed to her rest on March 2, 2012 at age 96 in Kettle Falls.
She was born in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, Canada on Sept. 12, 1915, the third of six children to recent German immigrant parents. The family moved to a number of farming communi¬ties, mostly in Alberta, during Anne's years of elementary and secondary schooling.
She chose a career in nursing, and made a major move in the early 1940's to Kentucky and Florida for her nurse’s training.

Michael Van Brady

Michael Van Brady, a resident of Lolo, Montana, passed away on Feb. 28, 2012 in Missoula, Montana at the age of 49. He was born in Kirkland on March 23, 1962 to Loyde and Phillis Brady.

James Day

March 6, 2012

Jim Day passed away on February 28, 2012 at the Veteran’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit after a short battle with lung cancer.
Jim was born Feb. 25, 1940 in Colville. He was the son of James E. and Gladys A Day. He grew up in Northport and in 1960 joined the U.S. Navy. He was discharged in 1964.
He worked as a log truck driver for several local loggers, and was also part owner of Day Brothers Logging for a few years.

Mary Dudley

March 6, 2012

Mary Colleen Dudley of Kettle Falls passed away on Feb. 29, 2012 at the age of 86.
Colleen was born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina to Captain Lawrence (US Army) and Nina Mackey. She lived in California and Oregon before moving to Kettle Falls with her husband, William, who passed away in 2005.
Colleen is survived by her brother, James, California; three daughters, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
At Colleen’s request, there will be no service.
Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
