Warren W. Fackenthall, a resident of Hunters, passed away on May 31, 2011 in Hunters at the age of 71. He was born on July 26, 1939 in Spokane, the son of Sydney Wilson and Loretta Fackenthall.
Warren was raised in the Blue Creek area near Chewelah. Warren attended school in Chewelah and graduated from Jenkins High School in 1958. He had moved to Seattle, where he worked in the construction industry. While there, he met the love of his life, Joan Timmerman, and after a brief courtship, they were married on May 26, 1962 in Seattle.
Louise Marie Paine, a longtime resident of the Northport area, passed away on May 12, 2011 in Colville at the age of 81. Louise was born on June 11, 1929 in Colville, the daughter of John and Mary (Chopot) Beusan.
She attended school at the â€śOld Marcusâ€ť School House and then completed her education as a 1947 graduate of Northport High School. She then worked for Dr. Hardwick in Colville before moving to Western Washington. While in Western Washington, Louise worked as a civilian clerk at the Whidbey Naval Station. Louise eventually returned to Northport to care for her mother.
The family of Ashley Crawford would like all family and friends to share in a celebration of her life by inviting you to a â€śpotluckâ€ť get-together at Colville City Park on June 11 from noon to 6 p.m. in The Gilbert Shelter area of the park. Ashley had left to be with her lord on Jan. 19, 2011, and will be missed greatly by all who had contact with her. This will be a time to share and remember times and events in her life. Feel free to bring pictures, share a story and view the memory boards of her life.
Mabel Victoria Sampson Zaffke, 89, passed away on March 6, 2011 at the age of 89 in Chewelah.
Mabel was born Dec 17, 1922 in Kent to Charles Linn and Carolina Sampson. The parents had five children all now deÂ¬ceased. She grew up in Richmond, California and graduated from Richmond Union High School in 1940.
During WWII, she worked as a stockroom supervisor. After the war, Mabel moved to San Francisco where she met Daniel Zaffke. She and Daniel were married on June 3, 1948. They moved to Danielâ€™s farm in Colorado, and Kathrin was born to them in 1949.
Harriett Ruth Manion passed away peacefully on March 1, 2011 in Colville at the age of 78. Harriett was born June 7, 1932 in Billings, Montana, the younger daughter of Leonard and Ruth (Tehelka) Gilbert.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Harriett Manion will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, at the Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville. Please visit the on-line memorial and sign the guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com.

Elizabeth Anne (Sperry) Bacon, mother of two boys, wife to one, grandmother of five and friend to many, passed on Motherâ€™s Day, May 8, 2011. Longtime Deer Park resident and lover of her summer home at the Pend Oreille Lakes, purchased by her Grandpa Milliren in 1914, Elizabeth lived a full and enjoyable life of 90 years, keeping her home, loving her family and being an active community member.
Elizabeth would tell you that her family was her greatest joy and accomplishment.
Kathryn Elmera Cobain passed away peacefully on May 21, 2011 at the age of 99. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Howard Cobain, and grandson, Stephen Fausti. Kathryn was born in Waukon, Washington, the oldest child of Harry and Naomi DeChenne.
Sister Mary Esther Becker, OP, age 92, a resident of Chewelah, passed away on May 14, 2011 at St. Josephâ€™s Long Term Care in Chewelah. Sister Mary Esther was born on October 16, 1918 in Oberwuerzbach, Germany, the daughter of Alois Becker and Elisabetha Graf.
Nona Welch Delles passed away peacefully at her home in Springfield, Oregon on May 22, 2011.
A rosary will be said for her at the parish Church of the Immaculate Conception in Colville on Tuesday, May 31 at 7:30 p.m.
A requiem mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Colville.
Burial will be at Mountain View Park Cemetery after the requiem mass followed by a wake at the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Carolyn A. LaDuke-Hyde, 57, passed away Apr 9, 2011 after a one-year battle with cancer at her home in Honolulu, HI. Carolyn was born May 18, 1953 in Ione to Dale and Sylvia Anderson.
She attended school in Colville and graduated from Colville High School in 1971. She then attended college for one year at BYU-Hawaii, where she studied fashion. Carolyn moved back to Colville and lived there until 1992, when she left for Hawaii to work as an interior designer remodeling homes. In 2001, she started working as special projects and task manager for Straub Medical Clinic in Hawaii Kai.
