Colville wins high-powered Lakeland Invitational

It’s something of a testament to how talented the current Colville High volleyball team is when the Indians annex the high-powered Lakeland Invitational championship and coach Missy Bennett says her team didn’t play as well as it could have.
It’s only September.
Next to the Crossover Tournament, the annual Lakeland Invitational likely has the best field of any tournament the Indians will play in this fall.
Okay, the State 1A Tournament counts for something. After all, this team has some lofty goals this fall.

Pitt, Norvell win Chewelah Open Best Ball/Scramble

The Chewelah Golf & Country Club held its annual Open Best Ball/Scramble last weekend. The tournament proper was 54 holes.
The team of Chewelah Golf & Country Club PGA Profes¬sional Jason Pitt and his partner, Payton Norvell, won the gross division in the championship flight with a 194 total. The duo of Colville’s Kent Brown and Spokane’s Kevin Braegeer finished second, five shots behind.
In the net division of the championship flight, the team of Chewelah’s Brenton Harting and Randy Kirby from Spokane finished first ahead of Chewelah golfers Dave Tupek and Pat Monasmith.
