Bulldogs home on Dec. 3
The Kettle Falls Middle School wrestling team has gotten its season off to a very good start.
The young Bulldogs got their season underway at a takedown Jamboree Nov. 13 at Deer Park Middle School. Teams from DP, Kettle Falls, Chewelah, Colville, and Newport took part.
More snow in the
forecast this week
It’s been snowing hard on Chewelah Peak and all signs point to a Black Friday (Friday, Nov. 23) opening at 49 Degrees North Ski and Snowboard Resort.
As of Monday afternoon, there was 24 inches of snow at the lodge and 41 inches at the summit. It was snowing steadily and seven inches of snow had fallen in the past 12 hours. New snow depth was nine inches at the lodge. Nineteen inches of new snow had fallen in the latest storm at the summit.
The temperature at the lodge was 30 degrees and the temperature on top was 27 degrees.
Final play
heroics for CHS
A pair of 12-0 teams will square off on Saturday at Joe Albi Stadium for a berth in the State 1B (eight-man) championship the following weekend at the Tacoma Dome.
Second-ranked Cusick and top-ranked Liberty Christian (12-0) will meet in the east of the Cascades 1B semifinal on Saturday at Joe Albi Stadium (1 p.m.).
In the other semifinal on Saturday at the Tacoma Dome, Neah Bay (12-0) will oppose Lummi (10-2) at 4 p.m.
Both Cusick and Liberty Christian (Tri-Cities) have been blowout winners all season long—until last weekend that is.
