Colville girl’s 4x100 relay captures state title

finish in top 10

The Colville High boy’s and girl’s track and field teams put a cap on a very successful season last Friday and Saturday at the State 1A track and field championships at Eastern Washington University’s Woodward Stadium.
Highlight of the meet for the Indians was the state championship turned in by the 4x100 relay team (Mackayla McLaughlin, Malia Luu, Chelsea Phillips and Tasha Luu).

Schnieder wins in hurdles

Jenkins High School sent seniors Zack Schnieder and Makayla Earl to the State 1B/2B/1A track and field championships at Eastern Washington University last Friday and Saturday.
For Schnieder and Earl, it was a weekend to remember.
Schnieder set three JHS hurdles’ records, and earned a third place medal in the 300- meter hurdles before capturing a coveted state championship in the 110 meter hurdles.
On Friday, Schnieder won both preliminary races--in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.94 and in the 300 with a time of 39.49.

Connell rallies in the ninth to win

Colville came agonizingly close to capturing the school’s first state fast-pitch softball championship last Saturday afternoon at Columbia Playfield in Richland.
But like last spring, when Connell edged the Indians in the State 1A semifinals in Spokane, the Eagles broke a few more Colville hearts with a heart-stopping 4-3 championship game win in nine innings.
Close…oh, so close.

Doggen, Little head to Yakima

CHS doubles team was 5th last year

The Colville High doubles duo of Liselotte Doggen and Erin Little captured the region 1B/2B/1A championship last weekend at West Valley High School and will advance to the State 1B/2B/1A Tennis Championships Friday and Saturday at the Yakima Tennis Club.
Doggen and Little finished fifth in doubles at last year’s tournament in Yakima.

Reardan ends Kettle’s season

Bulldogs don’t have it against Indians

Kettle Falls High (12-10) simply had nothing in the tank in an 11-0 loss to Reardan last Tuesday in a District 7 2B tournament game at Medical Lake.
The loss ended Kettle’s season.
Reardan advanced to the regional tournament at Gonzaga Prep last Saturday. The Indians were eliminated 4-3 by Riverside Christian.
Asotin advanced out of the Spokane regional to the Class 2B Final Four in Ellensburg Friday and Saturday.

Indians lose regional title game to Lakeside

Colville opens
State 1A softball against Hoquiam

Colville High (20-3), after dominating Lakeside all season long, fell to their Northeast A League nemesis 7-5 last Saturday afternoon in the District 6-7 regional title game at Vaagen Park in Colville.
The Indians and Eagles both advance to the State 1A Tournament Friday and Saturday at the Columbia Playfields in Richland. Okanogan and Cascade also advanced to State from the typically weak Caribou-Trail League.
Colville will open the double elimination tournament on Friday at noon against Hoquiam.

Indians dominate District 7 1A at WSU

Colville High continued its successful run through the Northeast A League again last weekend at Washington State University, annexing singles and doubles championships at the District 7 1A Tournament.
The two-time NEA champion and District champion Indians advance District 7 1A singles champion Tessa Moore, two-time District doubles champions’ Liselotte Doggen and Erin Little, and the doubles team of senior Carly Ekins and junior Alyssa Kienbaum (fourth seeded to regionals).

Chewelah’s baseball season comes to an end in Wenatchee

Cougars drop games to Colville, Lakeside

The Chewelah High Cougars’ baseball season came to an end last weekend with losses to Colville and Lakeside in the Northeast A League/Caribou Trail League District playoffs in Wenatchee.
The Cougars had won four in a row before Saturday’s games, including wins over Colville and Lakeside to annex the District 7 championship. But the Cougars couldn’t find the formula to advance to the regional playoffs on May 19.

Colville will oppose LaSalle on Saturday

The Colville High baseball team (13-9) won two of three games last week to qualify for the 1A regional tournament Saturday at Larson Field in Moses Lake.
The Indians, who edged Cascade 7-6 last Tuesday in Moses Lake to keep their season alive and advance to the Bi-District Tournament in Wenatchee last Saturday against the Caribou-Trail League, will oppose LaSalle on Saturday in a loser-out game at Moses Lake (1 p.m.).

Scramble golf tourney benefit

The first annual Colville Baseball Golf Tournament will be held at Dominion Meadows Golf Course on Saturday, June 16.
The tournament will benefit the Colville Baseball Fund, which provides assistance and equipment to area baseball players.
Teams will consist of four or five players (you make up the team) playing a Scramble format.
Entry fees are $40 per player if paid by June 9 ($45 after that date).
Submit completed registration and fees (payable to Colville Baseball) by June 9 to the Dominion Meadows pro shop, or to Alicia Morrison.
