The Colville Tribe 18U softball team finished second at last weekendâs annual Coeur dâ Alene Crush Tournament.
The Tribe, comprised of current Colville High varsity and non-varsity players, opened the tournament on a wet Saturday with a 9-1 win over the Yakima Steelers (six innings).
On Sunday, the Tribe smashed Trail/Castlegar, B.C. 23-0 (three innings) before edging the Montana Avalanche 6-5 and getting past the Spokane Stealth 9-5 in one semifinal game.
In the championship, Colville fell to the Billings/Butte Dirt, 8-6.

Low Net of Field
A field of 41 golfers, most of them from the Chewelah Golf & Country Club, braved constant rain during Saturdayâs first round of the 2012 Chewelah Amateur Golf Tournament.
The weather was markedly better during Sundayâs final 18 holes.
Topping the field and taking home Low Gross of the Field honors was Jason Anderson of Spokane. Anderson toured the tight, tree-lined course in 147.
Chewelahâs Jack George captured Low Net of the Field honors.
Will head up clown, barrelman duties
Scott âBlazeâ Logsdon, on his first rodeo tour, will be the Rodeo Clown/Barrelman for the 71st running of the Panorama Rodeo Friday and Saturday, June 22-23 in the Northeast Washington Fairgrounds arena.
The Panorama Rodeo will be a two-day show this year. Pro-West performances will be held Friday night at 7 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
