But injury
sidelines
Jesse Morrison
Colville High turned in some successes at last Friday and Saturday’s Class 2A Region IV wrestling tournament at Ellensburg High School. But there were also some disappointments.
District 7 champion Colville High qualified six wrestlers to Friday and Saturday’s Mat Classic XXV at the Tacoma Dome. The Indians, who also shared a GNL dual meet championship this winter, finished fourth at the regional with 150.5 points.
Cougars lose a
pair during week
The Chewelah Cougars boys’ basketball team bounced back from a pair of losses last week to advance to this week’s semifinals in the NEA/CTL Bi-District Tournament against Lakeside.
Chewelah will be well represented
Kettle Falls High senior Tyler Vining (220) and sophomore Austin Anderson (170) qualified at last weekend’s District 6-7 regional wrestling meet (Chelan High School) for the 25th annual Mat Classic all divisions’ state championships Friday and Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.
Vining, who was thought to be finished for the season after re-injuring his right knee in the district tournament, competed at Chelan on essentially one leg and still managed a third place finish and a spot in his third Mat Classic.
