in NEA opener

Host Tonasket was able to make an early 13-0 lead stand up against Kettle Falls in a 13-7 non-league win in Okanogan County last Friday night.
For KFHS, the offense is still a work in progress. But head coach Curtis Corvino liked what he saw in the second half against Tonasket.
“I thought we kind of had Tonasket on their heels at the end,” Kettle Falls head coach Curtis Corvino said of a spirited second half effort. “We just didn’t have enough time.”

Colville buries Chewelah

Unbeaten T-lake
up next on Friday

In one of the most lopsided outcomes in the annual Highway 395 cross-the-valley rivalry between Colville and Chewelah, the Indians pushed down the throttle and never let up on Friday the 13th, blasting host Chewelah 42-0.
After one of the poorest rushing performances in the recent history of the program one week earlier against unbeaten Freeman, the Indians cranked up their normally dependable ground game against a Chewelah team that lost 17 seniors from last season’s Northeast A League championship bunch.
