Ione, Wash. – The Baldy Fire burned actively overnight on the south side of Baldy Mountain, northwest of Ione. Trees could be seen torching on the southwest perimeter in an area that was kept in check yesterday by water drops from helicopters. This hand line extends from the upper slopes of Baldy Mountain to Jim Creek Road.
The fire started last week. The cause is still under investigation.
