Gypsy was born Sept. 8, 1980 and passed away Aug. 1, 2012 at the age of 31 from a car accident.
She was born in Ventura, CA and lived in Alturas, CA. She went through grade school in St. Maries, Idaho and spent the middle school years in Newman Lake. The family then settled on a farm in Northport. She attended Northport High School and Mary Walker High School in Springdale.
As an adult, she spent a number of years in Spokane, where she graduated from Glen Dow Academy before moving back to Northport.
Jayne LaClaire (Skold) Evans Northrup passed away peacefully on August 14, 2012 surrounded by the support and love of her family. She died at the age of 86. She was born the daughter of Archie and Myrtle (Ringstrom) Skold on March 26, 1926 in Benson, Minnesota.
Jayne graduated from Benson High school in 1944. She married Merlyn Wayne Evans on Sept. 3, 1947 and gave birth to their five children from 1948-1961. She attended Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul, Minnesota, graduating in 1947. She enjoyed attending as many reunions as possible.
Jean Louise Larson, 92, passed away on August 18, 2012 at her daughter Judy Hallâ€™s home near Colville. Jean was born to Leo Morris and Adele (Lampert) Morris in Spokane on March 27, 1920.
Florence Mildred Enright passed away on August 26, 2012 at the age of 94. She was born the daughter of Burt and Lucy (Richart) Thompson on Nov. 17, 1917 in Northport. Florence attended school in Northport and Colville and graduated from Colville High School in 1936.
On June 25, 1938, Florence married Merle Bernard Enright. Together they had two children, Jane and Betty.
Flora May Cottrell passed away on August 18, 2012 in Northport at the age of 79. She was born the daughter of Elmer and Tince (Branham) Oliver in Paso Robles, CA on Sept. 30, 1932. She was a twin being the eighth child out of 13 children.
Flora married Don Woodford Cottrell on May 27, 1950. They moved from Southern California to Fort Bragg with their three children, and then moved to Casper, CA, where they lived for 17 years before relocating to Northport.
Clyde Monroe Williams passed away in Colville on August 7, 2012 at the age of 85. He was born the son of Charles Taylor and Mintie Lee (Shropshire) Williams in Cut Bank, Montana on March 29, 1927. Clyde proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Clyde went to work in the oil fields and supervised crews in Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah. He would climb to the top of the derek and do a handstand to show his crew â€śhow itâ€™s done.â€ť He loved all things western and rodeoed on the Browning Circuit.
Clarence Walter Barton, a 77-year resident of Colville, passed away on August 22, 2012 at the age of 94. Clarence was born July 14, 1918 in Oelrichs, South Dakota, the seventh of 12 children born to George and Anna Barton.
The Kettle Falls Historical Center (KFHC) is currently home to a curious scene. A group of six to seven men, ranging in age from early twenties to middle-aged are gathered around an enormous old-growth cedar log protected from the elements by erected tarps. The repetitive sound of metal hitting wood and the tangy smell of wood chips permeate the air.
Deloris Darlene Deardorff, 77, a long time resident of Colville, passed away August 17, 2012 in Spokane. Deloris was born June 27, 1935 in McCook, Nebraska, to Ray and Ethel (Battreal) Elwood.
Deloris was raised and attended school in the McCook, NE area. She graduated from high school in 1952. In 1954 she married Gale Deardorff in Grants Pass, Oregon. Then in 1967 they moved to the Colville area.
Deloris spent most of her time at home being a mom to her five children. She also loved bowling whenever she had a free moment. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Della Featherkile-Schendel was born, raised and went to school in the Colville and Marcus area, She passed away on August 16, 2012 at age 82.
Della is survived by her husband Richard Schendel, her son Jason Schendel, daughter Teresa Schendel, her sister Mollie Featherkile-Obrecht and Niece Traci Obrecht, and many who love her.
Della was a Colville Rodeo Princess in 1951. She worked at the Stevens County Court House in the County Assessorâ€™s office before moving to Portland, Oregon.
She will be missed by many.
