Aaron Huff

February 7, 2014

Aaron Gabriel Huff, a lifetime resident of Stevens County, passed away on Jan. 24, 2014 at the age of 32 in Chewelah. He was born Nov. 8, 1981 to Mike and Elaine Huff in Colville. He attended Colville schools and graduated in 2000. He also received his AA degree from Spo¬kane Community College and was currently employed by Hewes Craft in Colville.
Aaron was born the 10th of 12 children. He was full of life and enjoyed being part of a large family. He had a great love for his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Aaron had a deep passion for music and it showed in the songs he wrote.
Aaron met Melanie Johnson seven years ago in Chew¬elah at the Flowery Trail Coffee Shop during an open mike night that he almost didn’t go to. It wasn’t until the third open mike night that they really started to talk. Then Aaron asked her out and they started to date. They had been dating for two weeks before Aaron went over to the coast and worked for the summer. While there, Aaron would think about what he was going to ask Melanie that night when he called her. Aaron was faithful about calling her every night and they would talk for hours. After returning home, Aaron was madly in love and he pro¬posed and the two were engaged for a year before getting mar¬ried.
Aaron and Melanie were beginning to start a young life to¬gether with the news of a baby. He was really excited about be¬coming a father. Some say that he was the most excited per¬son about becoming a father than anyone they have ever seen.
He enjoyed taking parts in the local theater produc¬tions at Woodland Theatre and Chewelah Players. Aaron was an ac¬complished artist and songwriter, having produced two CD’s: Everything is New and An Uninvited Guest, with a third nearly completed. He was awarded Chewelah’s Performer of the Year in 2012. Aaron will be truly missed by his family and by all the members of the community.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Julie Huff.
