Arthur Maurice Cove, Jr.

Former Colville resident Arthur Maurice Cove, Jr., 62, of Yakima, passed away on Nov. 17, 2011 after his fourth battle with cancer. Art was born in Stockton, CA on August 18, 1949 to Florence and Arthur M. Cove, MD. He graduated from University of Southern California with a BS in Psychology and an MBA in Finance. He and his wife Katherine moved to Washington state in 1980. He worked in Health Care Administration for over 30 years as the controller at Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville and Kittitas Community Hospital in Ellensburg, and as the Business Manager of Yakima Valley Radiology/Valley Imaging in Yakima. Art was an avid and accomplished golfer who was known to play 90 holes in a day. His other hobbies included playing classical guitar, working on his stereo system, maintaining his putting green, and working in his yard and around the house. His greatest joy was being married to Katherine, his wife of 35 years, and being a father to his daughters, Colette Barczys (Rochester, NY) and Jennifer Cove (Brighton, UK). He is survived by his wife and daughters; by his mother, Florence Humphrey, Laguna Woods, CA; by his sister, Jane O’Donnell, Sacramento, CA, and by his three grandchildren. A private celebration was held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Star Lodge, c/o Affordable Funeral Care, P.O. Box 9907, Yakima, WA 98909.
