B. J. (Sherie) Johnson

December 5, 2013

Billie June (Sherie) Johnson, age 86, a long-time resident of Northport, passed away on October 27, 2013 of a stroke at Buena Vista Assisted Living in Colville.   Sherie was born on August 11, 1927 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Sheri traveled to many places during her young life.  As an adult, she spent many years in Alaska fishing and living off of the land.  She had many adventures there and many good friends and relatives.
In 1972, Sherie and her husband, Chuck Johnson, moved from Alaska to the Colville area where they purchased and ran the stockyards.  After selling the stockyards, Sherie settled outside of Northport on her property called “Whithaven”.  She spent many years there growing and tending her garden and beautiful  flowers.  She loved to cook and entertain at her home and had many gatherings there.
Sherie also loved to sing.  She remembered singing and entertaining people from a young age.  She was still singing and entertaining at Buena Vista until her passing.
Sherie was a wonderful, warm person who will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her.
Sherie is survived by her son, Michael Johnson, and lots of extended family.
There will be a celebration of Sherie’s life at the Northport C.E. Building on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 1 p.m to 3 p.m.  Right after the celebration ends, for those who would like to join in, Sherie’s ashes will be spread on her property for her final resting.
