Wes Porter of Clark's All-Sports helps distribute free bicycling helmets to children at the first monthly bike clinic in the parking lot of the Colville Swimming Pool. Though the helmet supply has run out for today, the clinic continues until 6 p.m.
The Colville Rotary Club, in partnership with the Colville Parks and Recreation Department, Clark's All-Sports, and Outback Bicycles of Kettle Falls, is hosting monthly bike clinics throughout the summer. The clinics are held in the parking lot next to the Colville Swimming Pool from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Rotary is providing free helmets for kids who attend.The other goals of the clinics are to increase awareness and interest in cycling in the area, increase community fitness and health, create safe routes for cycling, assist tourism and economic development and to educate cyclists and the driving public about bikes, bike safety, laws and etiquette.
