Cement truck hits car in Colville

Firefighters and Stevens County Rescue work to free one of the passengers from the car Tuesday afternoon.

Colville police, firefighters and Stevens County Ambulance EMTs responded to a vehicle collision around noon on Tuesday, June 11 when a cement truck rear-ended a car on 3rd Avenue and Cedar Street. One of the car's occupants was transported to Providence Mount Carmel Hospital and later released. Two other vehicle occupants were treated for minor injuries at the scene. The driver of the cement truck was not injured.
According to police reports, the Colville Valley Concrete truck was traveling westbound on 3rd Avenue when the Ford in front of it went to make a left-hand turn onto Cedar Street. The truck failed to brake in time and slammed into the back of the Ford.
The truck driver was cited by law enforcement for the collision.
