Clyde Monroe Williams

August 29, 2012

Clyde Monroe Williams passed away in Colville on August 7, 2012 at the age of 85. He was born the son of Charles Taylor and Mintie Lee (Shropshire) Williams in Cut Bank, Montana on March 29, 1927. Clyde proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Clyde went to work in the oil fields and supervised crews in Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah. He would climb to the top of the derek and do a handstand to show his crew “how it’s done.” He loved all things western and rodeoed on the Browning Circuit. Clyde had a love for animals and over the years he adopted many dogs, and horses. He brought home many wild mustangs while living in Dayton, Nevada and broke them to ride. When his riding years were over, he would set out water and feed for the mustangs, as was his way.
In his spare time, Clyde enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, and spending time with his family. He is a member of the local Kingdom Hall and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Taylor and Mintie Lee; brothers, Charles Williams and Wiley Williams; sisters Ruth Williams and Lyda Bounds, and daughter, Georgianne Jacobsen.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Anna Susko Williams, Colville; daughters, Mary Williams Hansen, Colville; Roxie Ann Cesaro, Sparks, NV; Bobbie Lee Williams, Yakima; Sandra Kae Swainson, Sitka, AK; Georgia Rae Williams, Seattle; Tracey Rene’ Bisconer and husband Michael, Ferndale; Kathie Lyn Mewhinney and husband Tim, Spokane; Mary Beth Williams, Colville; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
