Colville headed to Regionals

February 28, 2014

Colville High players and coaches celebrate last Saturday night moments after the Indians secured the District 7 2A’s second seed to the 2A regional this week against the Central Washington Athletic Conference. Colville turned up the defensive heat in the second half of last Saturday night’s District 7 2A girl’s loser-out, winner to regional game at CHS and the result was an impressive 53-29 dismantling
of a Clarkston team that has given the Indians fits all winter long.
The win was the rubber match of the five-game season-long “series” with the Bantams (13-12), whose season ended.
Colville (18-6), second-seeded into the District tournament behind Great Northern League champion East Valley (19-3), avenged a 51-45 loss at home last Wednesday to Clarkston in District play.
Colville stayed alive for a regional berth with an impressive 58-42 dismantling
of slumping West Valley (15-8) last Friday night at home.
ELLENSBURG NEXT
The Indians will travel to face Central Washington Athletic Conference District
champion and third-ranked Ellensburg (20-2). The game will be played Saturday at Big Bend Community
Collete. Game time is 8pm.
The winner will advance—loser out.
The Bulldogs, who shared the CWAC regular season championship with West Valley (Yakima), demolished a very good Rams’ team 59-33 to capture the CWAC District title last Friday night in Sunnyside.
