Colville swamps Pullman, wins ‘Silver’ at River City

It was another good week for Colville High wrestling.
The Indians turned in a rare shutout in last Wednesday’s Great Northern League wrestling dual with visiting Pullman. CHS recorded seven pins and picked up five forfeits in an 83-0 shellacking of the hapless ‘Hounds.
The quickest pin of the night: Austin Donogh’s don’t blink 13 second pin at 126 pounds.
Picking up pins for Colville: 106, Slade Braun, 2:24; 113, TJ Baun, won by injury default; 120, Alex Linn, 1:23; 126, Donogh, 13 seconds; 132, Jesse Morrison, technical fall (16-1); 138, Tyler Ward, 1:20; 145, Ian Cox, 2:56; 160, Trenton Welton, 39 seconds.
Winning forfeit matches were Jack Smith, 285; Ryley Smith, 170; Brock VanQuekelberg, 182; Trey Powell, 195, and Nick Warhus, 220.

Post Falls’ silver

Cox led Colville to a Silver Bracket championship at the 17th annual River City Duals in Post Falls last weekend. Cox finished a perfect 5-0 at 145 pounds. He’s also this week’s Colville Benchwarmer’s CHS Athlete of the Week.
