Copper Bowl updating lanes for upcoming tournament

June 5, 2014

Preparation for the tournament has included considerable work on the lanes at the Copper Bowl.

Colville’s Copper Bowl has been busy in recent weeks with upgrades to the business before the upcoming statewide tournament the local bowling alley will host June 13-15 and again June 20-22.
Copper Bowl will host the 37th annual Washington State USBC Mixed Tournament. The tournament will bring around 400 teams to Colville, creating tourism and revenue at the start of summer for Colville.
The primary upgrades at the bowling alley have addressed the lanes, approaches and pins.
“We’ve spent $14,000 resurfacing lanes and approaches, and purchased $3,000 worth of new pins,” said owner Ken Marsh, adding that the promotion for the big tournament has included advertising and ordering towels with Copper Bowl and the name “Colville” on them.
The Copper Bowl will be “in absolutely prime condition” for the tournament, said Marsh.
