Deserae Martinez

Deserae Kathleen (Austin) Martinez, a life-long resident of the Colville area, was accepted into the Lord’s hands on June 26, 2011. She was born in Spokane on July 29, 1982 to Cathy Somerlott and Don Willard. She married Josh Martinez on Sept. 23, 2006. Desi graduated from Colville High School in 2001, and recently completed the Spokane Carrington College Dental Assistant program. She was employed by Whitty’s Chevron. Desi enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and helping people. Desi is survived by her parents and step-parents, Cathy and Ben Somerlott and Don and Laura Willard; her husband, Josh Martinez; her step-children, Levi, Caleb and Madison Martinez; her brother and sister-in-law, Ben/Travis and Jennifer (Brogan) Somerlott; her brother, sister-in-law and niece, Tyler, Chenille and Brooklyn Somerlott; and by numerous extended family members and loving friends. A memorial service will be held on her birthday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her family through Chase Bank, where a memorial fund has been established in her name, and will be distributed between the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and her favorite charities. Desi will be dearly missed.
