Diana Turner

Diana Lynn Turner, a resident of Colville, passed away on Dec. 30, 2012 at the age of 52. Diana was born on Nov. 2, 1960, in San Francisco, California to Robert and Dixie (Dunham) Hamre.
With her father being in the United States Coast Guard, Diana spent many years living in the lighthouses along the Pacific Coast. In her growing up years, she was a Girl Scout and played the clarinet in school. She was also known as the family come¬dian and class clown. She attended school in the San Francisco Bay area and graduated from Pacific High School in San Leandro, CA in 1978. After graduation, she worked at Kenny Wall Covering, where she made many lifelong friends.
On May 2, 1997, she married Eric Turner in Santa Cruz, CA and in 2003 they relocated to the Colville area.
She was always brightening everyone’s day with her perpetual smile and wonderful hugs. Diana was a devoted and loving mother, honest, genuine and loved life, especially the lives of the pets she spent countless hours volunteering to care for. She also enjoyed other outdoor activities, never passing up a chance to go four-wheeling, riding motorcycles or floating down a river. Diana had a deep love for the Lord and has touched many lives with her compassion. She will be greatly missed. The priceless memories she has given will be held dear in the hearts of all who knew her.
Diana was preceded in death by her father, Robert W. Hamre, USCG.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Turner,, Colville; a daughter, Meagan Turner, Colville; a son, Jason Smith, Spo¬kane; her mother, Dixie Dunham, Vallejo, CA; sisters, Debbie Fowler and husband, Doug, Castro Valley, CA; Dawn Baffone and husband, Mike, Lake Tahoe, CA; mother-in-law, Sandy Bedford and husband, Alan, Colville; brothers-in-law, Jason Hayes of Spokane, WA, Tim Turner and Wife, Kathleen of Rathdrum, ID; sister-in-law, Barbara Desira and husband, Joe, Gig Harbor; lifelong friends, Aileen Damele and Kelli Reilley; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Diana’s life will be held at a later date.
