Edward Gilson

December 28, 2011

Edward N. Gilson, 68, passed away, Dec.22, 2011 in Colville. He was born in Chewelah on Dec. 13, 1943, the son of Maynard and Lillian (Staff) Gilson.
Edward was raised and attended school in Chewelah. He graduated from Jenkins High School in 1962 and in January of 1963 decided to serve his country by joining the United States Navy.
In 1964 Edward married Karen Wilson and they established their home in the Colville area. Then, in 1965, they were blessed with their daughter, Suzette. For awhile Edward worked at Plum Creek Lumber, where he was known as “Fast Eddie” because he always put his all into whatever he was working at. He was also known as “MacGyver” at New Tec in Kettle Falls, where he worked until he retired.
Edward enjoyed being around home, tinkering with his cars and spending time with his family. He loved fishing, dancing and just being wherever the party was. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Edward is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Suzette and her husband, Russ, Colville; three grandchildren, Jacob, Christopher and wife, Kimberly, and Desire; and two great- grandchildren, Gunner and Qwen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Richard.
