Evelyn June McDonald
Evelyn June âJudyâ McDonald was born on June 13, 1924 in Bremerton and passed away peacefully after and long battle with Alzheimerâs and Dementia on April 24 in Poulsbo. She was the daughter of Robert and Mabel Carter and the loving wife of S.P. âMacâ McDonald.
She was a resident of the Orient/Colville areas from 1953-2003.
Mac and Junie (as her family knew her) moved to Orient to raise cattle and alfalfa.
They were very proud of being named Stevens County Cattlemen of the year in 1960. Prior to 1953, she and Mac owned and operated the White Pig and Blue Goose Taverns in Bremerton.
After Mac passed away, she moved to Colville and in 2003 to Bremerton to be near family. While in Colville, she was active in volunteering at Mount Carmel Hospital. Her other affiliations were Hatasu Temple, Daughters of the Nile, Northeast Washington Nile Club, Philathea Chapter and Pine Tree Chapter OES (50 year member) and the Kettle River Grange.
Junie is survived by her nephew, Robert J. Carter (Nancy), Bremerton; two great nephews, Christopher (Ann-Elissa) and Scott Carter; and two great-great newphews, Ian and Anderson Carter. Her parents, her husband and her brother, Robert H. Carter of Bremerton, preceded her in death.
At her request, there will be no funeral service. She and Macâs ashes have been spread near their beloved ranch in Orient.
