Fred Carroll

Fred Lawrence Carroll passed away on July 15, 2012 at the age of 89. He was born the son of Lawrence and Jo Ella (Fate) Carroll on August 19, 1922 in Bossburg. He was born and raised in the same house that he passed away in.
Fred attended grade school in Bossburg and graduated from Marcus High School in 1940. On Sept. 15, 1942, Fred enlisted in the Air Force and trained during WWII to be an aircraft me¬chanic. Following an Honorable Discharge, Fred returned home to Bossburg to help his mother take care of his younger siblings after his father passed away.
In May 1944, Fred married Margaret Sailor and together they raised five wonderful daughters. They had a small farm, and Fred drove and maintained school busses for Marcus and Kettle Falls School Districts until his retirement in 1986. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, working on his farm, and spending time with his family.
Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret, in 2003.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary “Sam” Peterson, Evans; Helen Barber and husband Butch, Chattaroy; Judy Castle and husband, Dan, Rossland, British Columbia; Donna Hopkins and husband Jim, Evans; Debbie Bluher and husband Randy, Kennewick; brother Tom Carroll and wife Donna, Wenatchee; sister-in-law, Phyllis Cunningham and husband Bob, Colville; 16 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 6.95 (soon to be 7) great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and ex¬tended family.
Funeral service for Mr. Carroll will be at 1:30 p.m. on Satur¬day, July 21 at the Colville Seventh Day Adventist Church. A graveside service will follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.
