Genealogy Society hosts sessions

February 17, 2012

During the month of February, members of the Northeast Washington Genealogical Society will be available at the Colville Public Library on Thursday afternoons from 1-3 p.m. to offer instruction and assistance on how to use various resources (books and on-line) to capture family history.
The library subscribes to Ancestry and Heritage Quest on-line database resources; and there is a separate collection of genealogy resource books available at the library. Complete U.S. Census records from 1790 to 1930, Social Security Death Indexes, and much more are available to you at and through the Colville Library.
The purpose of the sessions is to help the public do their own research at a convenient time, using the free resources available at the library.
On Feb. 16, there will be emphasis on finding information about ancestors through application of the Google search engine. There is no need to make a reservation for this service; just come in at the indicated time and someone will be there.
This service is free. Anyone with an interest in tracing their family history is invited. Check the NeWGS website at for detailed information; just click on Events.
