George H. Jones, passed away on Feb. 22, 2013. He was 87. He was born Feb. 6, 1926.
He fell asleep peacefully in his own bed at home. That is the way he wanted it.
He was born in Phoenix, Arizona. His father, Henry A. Jones, was a blacksmith. His mother, Nina M. Egan, was a nurse. His sister was Celeste Haitt. All three preceded him in death.
George and Doris lived in Phoenix until they moved to Kettle Falls, where their daughter, Joannie McCrite, grandson, Ben, and roommate, Charmaine Cranmore, were caregivers.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Jones, four children, Rosanna Payne, Joanna McCrite, Juanita Madden and Eric Jones; six grandchildren, Tony Payne, Dawn Hyde, Tash Hood, Benjamin McCrite, Eli Garret Madden, and 12 great-grandchildren.
George died of complications associated with Alzheimer/Dementia.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane for all of their support. Their personnel were very caring and kind from the nurses, bath care women, social workers and chaplinâ€™s.
George worked as an electrician for GE/Honeywell, Glen Canyon Dam and Arizona Baptist Childrenâ€™s Service.
He was a Navy veteran from 1943-46 and spent 30 years on active reserve.
Memorial service will be held in Phoenix at a later date.
