Glen Morris

Glen E. Morris, 84, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. He was born Jan. 16, 1928 in Usk to Fred and Nellie (Masters) Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard, Jean and Robert, and sister Blanche. He is survived by his wife, Bette Jeanne, and four children: Catherine Brady (Bob), Shelly Garg (Raj), John Morris (Debra) and Margaret Morris; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and brother Wayne and sister Wendy.
Glen graduated from Rodgers High School in Spokane and served in the Army during WWII. He earned a BA in Education from Gonzaga University and a Masters in Education from Seattle University. Glen was an educator teaching Jr. High, and elementary classes, completing his career as an Elementary School Principal in the Highline School District.
He was a charter member and officer at Marcus Whitman Presbyterian Church in Des Moines, Washington. He served in and supported many community organizations, including the White Center Kiwanis Club. Upon moving to the Colville area in 1990, he became a member and Elder at the Marcus Community Presbyterian Church where he actively served with his wife for over 20 years in a variety of roles. He was involved in many community organizations including the Arden Community Club and the Elm Tree Water District.
Glen had a servant’s heart and was always helping those in need.
A memorial service and celebration of Glen’s life will be held at Arden Community Hall on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Marcus Community Presbyterian Church, PO Box 716, Marcus, Washington 99151, the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org, or through your local Relay for Life.
