Highway 395 and State Route 31 are closed
Stevens County is suffering from an influx of water due to rain and melting snow.
On Monday the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) updated two announcements of road closures due to flooding. U.S. 395 between Colville and Kettle Falls is closed at milepost 232, between Spanish Prairie and Williams Lake Road. State Route 31 in Pend Oreille County is also closed between Ione and Metaline Falls at milepost 11.
For cars and empty trucks traveling southbound and northbound, a detour for Highway 395 is available on Williams Lake Road. Trucks traveling this detour must be empty because of seasonal weight restrictions.
A detour for State Route 31 is on Sullivan Lake Road, which is also under seasonal weight restrictions. Commercial trucks are asked to avoid this road.
